I agree we spend too much on other countries and our relationship with Israel strains relationships with other ME countries, but most of those countries will never really be our friends. Our policies in the ME have been abysmal in the past (and probably now too), but we will never be friends with some of those countries.

wow, if you can listen to that, see other things their "reporters" have said and look at their editorial commentary over a very long time and not see how biased they are ...then the closed minded person might be you ... NPR is as liberal as any news org in the USA ... Please ket's just de-fund this "news" organization already, tax payer money should not be used in the press period. We can agree on that right ?

NPR wants no other belief spread but their own and want to call themselves open minded. Yet the fire LIBERAL commentator Juan Williams for simply making an honest statement. Instead of disagreeing with it for X Y or Z reason....they fire him for political correctness

I have listened to NPR and watched "public broadcasting since the 70s.
According to both. Nixon was evil, G.Ford was a bumbling clown, J. Carter was the savior but no wanted to cooperate, Reagan was the sick evil one that ruled the country while suffering from alzheimers (the alzheimers thing is relatively new, within the last year or two) which is causing him to have a misunderstanding of the world and leads to his war mongering, Bush was another war monger with no understanding either,a Reagan clone, Clinton is the new savior sent to reinforce the policies of the first savior J. Carter. Sex with aid (Look What Nixon Did!), crooked land deals (LOOK What Nixon Did!) Questionable " deaths of some of his compadres (Look What Nixon Did), Bush II is spoiled brat and an Alfred E. Newman of our time. WAR Mongor. Created every thing wrong in the world today. Just wanted to finish war daddy started because..........Daddy wanted it and he is just plain stupid. Obama savior #3. But at the same time they are very good at mixing their leftist messages along with good programming so that they appear to be the only "tellers of the truth and can be trusted." They try very hard not to come across as a leftist propaganda machine, they've had years of practice telling you and your children just what they should think.
Gay is normal, there is no God and if there were a God He would be evil. Our traditions and the American culture is for narrow minded right wing fanatics. Smart people are beyond all of that. They see the light, Everyone else is stupid and must be shown the way and the truth.
Yes I remember the days when they said our soldiers were the enemy and so was the government. But now the message is Government good, Big Business bad.
If you watch and listen just realize they are NOT what them seem. I for one, am in favor of canceling all funding for both, let them survive on their own. The days of innocence are gone, just be aware when you are listening or watching that they ARE SENDING YOU A MESSAGE. Listening to them is a choice you make, again, before deciding any issue ask yourself just why does NPR and Public Broadcasting take the view they have and where their funding is coming from.
After listening to them off and on for over 40 years about all I can say now is they suck. And I do still listen from time to time just so I can get reminded why.
