So I’ve never been a fan of Pocket Carry but I’m starting to see some times it could be beneficial to me. I doubt I’d ever pocket carry full time but I’m curious what others think about it?

I would occasionally carry a J-frame in a Mika pocket holster in light summer wear (khaki shorts and a tee). If you carry based on what you are wearing rather than dressing around a gun it is a good option and certainly better than nothing. I also had a cheap Blackhawk pocket holster that was a little thicker, but held an extra speed strip in a pocket on it and seemed to hold the J-frame more securely, but was definitely more noticeable.

S&W 649 in .357 with CT Lazer Grip in a Galco pocket holster every time I leave home. Only gun while wearing shorts and tee, and a backup in a coat or jacket pocket in winter.

I pocket carry regularly, in a Vedder Pocket Locker kydex holster, and it stays pretty well positioned. They make one for J-frames, although that's not what I regularly carry. I have pocket carried a J-frame in the past, though, in simple Uncle Mike's type pocket holsters, but how well those position depends on the pocket shape/depth.

I pocket carry a 642 or 442 regularly. My best luck has been with Mika or Kramer leather holsters. The ones that I own have lasted 10+ years. I also will sometimes pocket carry a Glock 42 in a (now sadly discontinued) Blue Force Gear pocket holster. I have had great success with both setups.

I’ve been testing pocket carry using a cheap no name brand pocket holster and I’m impressed with how well pocket carry works “so far”.

BUG: S&W M49 BodyGuard in a CrossBreed ankle holster worn daily for nearly two years. 2 HKS speedloaders in an AHolster kydex pocket carrier (an AHolster kydex for the M49 when I have to pocket carry). Ankle holster sits well for access when driving auto OR a motorcycle.

G19 for primary at 4 o'clock in SCK kydex.

Well I will admit I was wrong about pocket carry it definitely falls in the category of “don’t knock it until you try it”.

Cargo shorts or Cargo pants ... front right pocket .
    J-Frame S&W ... works for me since 2004 .
A seamstress can reinforce the pocket and make it into a nice built in pocket holster ... my preferred mode of operation .
Many ways to do it .

Right now a j-frame in a simple Blackhawk pocket holster and my regular jeans front pocket is work perfectly (will definitely try some other options down the line).

However I’m not sure a semiauto would work as well for “me”.
