I'm confused here. There seems to be an over riding sentiment that Creflo Dollar should somehow be punished for disciplining his daughter. It seems that maybe, because he's a wealthy black pastor preaching a doctrine some don't agree with that he is now guilty of whatever ever crime he is accused of. There's accusations of choking and beating with a shoe, yet the articles I have read state only a small scratch on the girls necks could be found. Somehow I suspect that a shoe and choking might leave some sort of mark. but I wasn't there so how wouldn't know.
The real scary part of this is the man was arrested for disciplining his child. Maybe he was too agressive. Maybe he doesn't believe in the "time out" punishment craze of the politically correct. Maybe, his daughter became so verbally abusive she deserved what she got. Or maybe, the first amendmant does not apply to wealthy pastors who preach a doctrine we don't agree with. And by the way, what part of scripture is he twisting?
Be very careful here. Maybe the next time you discipline your child and perhaps go so far as to take their cell phone from them, or limit their time on the play station or prevent them from exersizing their constitutional right of free assembly (going to a party) you may also one day go to jail. This is the road we have paved, I am sure we all recognize the abuse of the "state" as evidenced by so many Ron Paul supporters.
Before we openly judge the man, it might be wise to get the rest of the story.

Don't let logic and reasoning cloud your prejudices, man!

    LOL!

He is one primary proponents of two major false teachings of the day. Here are a few videos on each one. I will keep them short. Pic what you will.

    2. Word of Faith
(No videos, just a good document)
    http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/char/more/w-f.htm

Also, here is a video by Dollar which says that tithing leads to salvation. Even though tithing is not a New Testament concept.

Also, we do not go to church to be fed the Word:

Oh, and if we don't tithe we should get shot:

Prosperity...IS the Bible Message. People having so perverted prosperity is the problem. Biblical prosperity would be something close to the Garden of Eden w/o disobedience.

This is like a drink of water in a dust storm, some of us will have to chew it up first.

No, Jesus is the message of the Bible. Now the goal of God's redemptive history is to reconcile all things unto Himself (Ephesians). To say prosperity is would not be Biblical.

You didn't chew...prosperity is not but abundant is. Abundant in Spirit not in posessions. How would anyone get there w/o Jesus ??

i dont think anyone here is taking up for Creflo "Dollar"... but i would say that when a pastor teaches according to the Word that you don't have to live life broke, sick, miseable, in debt, etc, i will take up for it.. religion teaches that people have to embrace sickness and poverty like a form of holiness... it is not a form of holiness, it is a curse...

Lord knows the Vatican needs no competition!

One should be careful around anyone who purports to offer you "the one and only path" to spiritual perfection. But that's just me.

Not a big fan of Organized Religion... ;)

I don't find Jesus and Organized Religion AUTOMATICALLY SYNONYMOUS.

    Everybody's mileage may vary.

Well Jesus did die for His church, and it is His bride. The community and congregation of believers is a vital element of the Christian walk and faith. I guess it just means how you define organized religion.

Christ didn't intend his church to practice religion, rather, faith.
Mind explaining further what you mean by this? I don't understand the modern hate over the word religion. It is just a specific set of beliefs one holds towards God. That is how it has always been used historically in the church.

Now if you mean it as man's attempt to earn favor in the sight of God by his own works and merit then I can agree with that. Sola fide,

    Hate?

I don't see the word "hate" nor do I sense the expression of it by him.
