Currently have a long barrel chambered for 3" on the gun. Looking for a shorter barrel for HD. 2 3/4" shells will work for HD and I've found one chambered for 3".

Question: Even though these 1100 barrels do not state "and shorter" behind the 3" designation stamped on the barrel, will the shorter shells function properly without causing damage and/or injury?

The 2.75" shells will be fine in the 3" chamber. The shells headspace on the brass rim unlike semiauto pistol cartriges.

I have 2 of the 1100's that are 3 inch magnum 30 inch full choke. The only thing I've ever had problems with are low power shells like low brass #8's.
