AFTER I bought the AIM Sports Solid Metal Carbine Length Weaver / Picatinny Quad Rail from Amazon, I read that it was a real pain to adapt to the SUB-2000. I found it to be REAL easy by simply clamping it to the Weaver Rail Barrel Mounts from GRG MFG! See pictures below...

By canting it 45 degrees, the gun still folds and locks! I added a 45 degree adapter and a foregrip after these were shot and it worked like a charm!

You will need to either Locktite the collar in place or cut off the end of the stock foregrip like I did to keep it in place as that is what controls how much tension is on the barrel catch!

    1942 Mosin Nagant "sporter"?

While I'm waiting on the scope I thought I would add mine. (will edit with new pictures later)

1942 round receiver IZ manufactured Mosin Nagant 91/30. This is BY FAR the best barrel I've ever seen in a MN, so I started with it for my sporter project. I machined 6" off the barrel (making it 22.75" total) and threaded it 5/8"-24 for 7.62 or .308 US-style brakes. It is TRUE with the bore. I installed a Spike's tactical BIG AK Dynacomp brake. Polished the factory trigger, massaged the factory stock shorter and cut the cheek weld piece off for adjust-ability, and made my own "monopod" by inserting brass furniture screws / machine thread adapters in the stock. The brass tube under the barrel is home-machined as well to be able to hold "barrel clamping devices" while still keeping the barrel floated - it threads into the factory cleaning rod boss in the stock and I drilled the stock larger for the brass tube to "register" into it. I used a UTG tri-rail barrel-clamp mount that I had laying around and machined it to stay free floating around the barrel. Bipod is a cheap bipod that I cut a little shorter to match the height. Since I have taken the pictures I also modified the bipod to spread to more like 45 deg on the legs so it's more stable. I removed the factory sight base, filed it all square and true, reblued then installed a 3/8" dovetail scope mount w/ integrated rings for a scout scope. Still waiting on scout scope to arrive.

I can't wait to shoot it! Let's hope this thing can put a decent group on paper! Furthermore, let's hope it kills deer this year!

That's pretty damn impressive. I like the way that came out. I have a romanian wasr and tried to put a synthetic kit on it(all black) because I thought
it would look cool but the style was crap. It was a Tapco. What brand is that hand guard? The best thing about yours is after the work you have a sweet
looking ak and you know its high quality because it's saiga. Mine was kicked outta some war factory in romania, lol.
