I just got the camera and it's a bit tricky to operate, but I'm working on it. AFAIK this came from the estate of a female undercover cop in NOLA, possibly vice squad. From what I see lately, a FTF value around $500 to someone that appreciates Smiths.
Better pics would help.
G'Luck.
The barrel is pinned, grips look original, some wear on the trigger guard that's roughed up the bluing, no box or papers, or dash! I looked for one of these for years and now I can't take it to Canada because it's so easily concealed. Of my 3 pistols ALL are banned there. For S&W collectors, they value things such as: pinned barrel, recessed cylinder, minimal scratches, original grips, original box, original papers. Collectors also seem to like the earlier versions of a model so a "no dash" might be valued higher than a "-4".
For someone looking to carry & shoot, they would value thinks such as: lockup, bore condition, and then some of the things above.
Yours seems to have a square butt frame which might be of more interest to a collector.
