Shrimp season, anyone fishing this week?

Shrimp season opened today. I think I might try my luck on some specks/reds this week. Anyone else planning a trip?

They just opened the bay for shrimping today,got a buddy who wants to go drag a net when I get in from offshore.

Maybe.....but you would have to take my little man too....he loves to go fishing.

Yea...not happening!! Maybe we can go for a weekend or something and while he goes fishing with you we can go to the beach.....or what is left of the beach...

Here's a tip. If heading to Grand Isle, fish the oyster reefs just north of where Cigar's Marina used to be. Or if it is calm fish the beach along the jetties in front of the water tower. Live shrimp under a cork.

I'm sitting in Fourchon right now (on a boat at work,lol).They have a buttload of people shrimping.

I agree with Bridgeside. I keep my camper there for the summer months. When I am not working that is where I am. Fishing and drinking.

Call Bridgeside early for reservations. Talk to Dodie and tell her I sent ya'll. She will take care of you. She is the owner and a good friend of mine.

I think I was there last year for this rodeo. Is this the club out of New Orleans?
