Go with real skateboard tape like BlackMagic. Ladder tape or No-Kid tape looses its grit far to easily which is annoying and can trash your gun's finish and internals.

just finished...it could be better aesthetically but it feels great, especially since i seem to have sweaty palms when im handling a pistol...i'll probably redo it later or buy a precut grip but for now its suffice.... in case anyone's wondering i just made some templates on paper by rubbing a pencil over the paper placed on the grip...the thumb grooves and back were just free-cut...in the end, its okay...thanx fellas...

You'll take the piece off the backstrap pretty quick. It will rub the tender skin, between thumb and first finger, raw within the first couple mags. Side to side pressure is what holds the gun on target.

I did this one about 4 years ago with the 3-M stuff. It is not turning loose. This pistol is no safe queen either.
I removed all the checkering and had a somewhat smooth, flat surface to start with. It is 3 pieces that wrap from one side of the mainspring housing to the other.
