President Barack Obama is clearly leading this country to that bright and
shining city on the hill. A future where ALL men will be treated equal, not just the white man.

All Americans WILL have a choice in whether or not to accept President
Obama's Socialist Utopia. Choose Socialism and live a long and happy life.
We will not concern ourself with those that reject Socialism. They will not
stand in our way as President Obama leads us to that bright and shining
    city on the hill.

Clearly the President has a long way to go and needs your help.
Now is the time to get with the program. Get onboard and show
your support for our Great President's Plan for a Socialist
    America by the year 2012.

Socialism is the way of the future. Be part of it!
Be proud to be a Socialist American!
Stand tall and support your President!

Socialism will work in America and America will be better for it!

Yes, the sooner everyone submits to the State the sooner we can get around to building a better America. Rid them of their guns and bibles and this antiquated selfish belief in 'Liberty' and we'll all be much better off. We will make this country strong again we're just not going to build it on the ideology of some old rich, white, slave owners.
As an enthusiastic admirer of the late great Karl Marx, I can tell you with certainty that whatever founding fathers said is capitalist propaganda. And yes, capitalism and racism do go hand in hand.
Let us talk serious now about our Great President Barack Obama.

He recently said these great words: "I'm asking you to believe.
Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington...
I'm asking you to believe in yours." -Barack Obama

My president believes in me and my ability to bring about needed change
in this country. And I believe in him and his ablilty to do the same. Socialism is coming to America. That's change we can believe in.

The truth is, we've been Socialist for quite some time. More proof
that the average American wouldn't know socialism if someone rubbed
    his nose in it.

The average American has no idea how much better off he will be once
America goes completely Socialist. The natural progression for any mature developed nation is Socialism.
I believe that Obama will make great irreversible progress to bring america into this world community form of government.

I also however believe that certain unsavory elements of american society are going to fight him every step of the way in on this progress and they are eventually going to have to be harshly dealt with or they will jeopardize destabilising the entire plan to bring america into the world community.
Excess wealth needs to be put to work for the people. Obama will make sure everyone gets their fair share. The majority of Americans agree with this plan, otherwise Obama would not have won. The World Community is rapidly moving toward socialism. We are holding
the world back. It's time we joined the party.

Chavez is what South America has sorely missed since the death of Che. The people need a voice, and Chavez is that voice. President Chavez knows the playing field has to be level, and everyone needs to be treated equally. The sooner people stop being individuals and start working for the collective the better off we all will be. I'm encouraged by Comrade Chavez's efforts to install himself as leader for life in Venezuela. He is providing a vision we need here in this country to repeal the 22nd amendment so that Obama can serve more than two terms. We need charismatic leaders in these troubled times. Two terms is just not enough. FDR had four terms, and Obama could need more in this time of Economic peril. I always had great admiration for Dr.Chavez , comrade Kim Jong Il, men who knows how to run the levers of power and stay in office. They are truly great men! Dear Leader Kim Jong Il is a great man of faith and courage. Kim is a genuine leader of the people as President Obama. He is loyal and dutiful and versed in civil and military affairs. He has all the best qualities to be required of the people’s leader. He is, before all else, unfailingly loyal and devoted to the country and the people.
Even when the U.S. tried to destroy the socialist gains that North Korea has made. The world knows that the strong Korean People’s Army, trained by Marshall Kim Jong Il, will always emerge victorious.
North Korea's Dear Leader is an inspiration to us all. How fortunate for him that he can motivate his people to accomplish such great things! I am confident that Obama and he shall become close friends and allies. There is much we can learn from such a wise leader and established culture.
The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il has always lived a modest life. It has been said that comrade Kim Jong Il is the korean Harry S. Truman .

Why are Americans scared of Socialism?
Socialism? Why? It's been over two decades since the Berlin wall was struck down. Because a bunch of old people have the Cold War mentality instilled into their minds?? Once that generation dies off socialism won't be vilified nearly as much as it is now. Stupidity. We HAVE "Socialist" schools, roads, fire and police services, courts, library systems, public works and public utilities, etc.

They just don't know what "Marxist Socialism" means, and think it's a 'gateway' system to Joe Stalin's Russia. They moronically believe that safety net programs are "socialism"' programs which the vast majority of Americans insist on, and which the vast majority of THEM will rely on more and more as they age.

They overlook the essential services provided by the govt (which, by the way, the private sector can't or WON'T provide... and if they did, those services would be a LOT more expensive).

It makes no difference, in fact it's very far outside their intellectual capacity to understand. American's have been brainwashed into believing they live in some paradise of personal liberty. The reality is that we are the most closely observed, recorded, spied-upon and eavesdropped (by our own government) nation on earth. What's wrong with a system that would provide a decent life for senior citizens where they won't have to worry if they could ever afford to retire? Where they won't have to worry about sacrificing food for medicine, or vice versa?

Why is it so important to make sure the least fortunate suffer? It isn't a matter of more or less rights. It's a matter of decency. It's a cruel reality that those that actually work the hardest, the menial labor force, are least prepared to retire. But the white collar folk get to play golf and retire with nine figure golden parachutes. In that sense Capitalism isn't so pretty.
You pay taxes and they go to funding socialized programs, such as public education, medicare and social security, and even public libraries. Public option insurance is a norm in almost every developed nation and for half of the US to complain about that is quite simply ridiculous. Heathcare is, defined by Eleanor Roosevelt, the freedom FROM disease and injuries, and thankfully the government can provide that for us. There are no "fiscal and social realities" that limits the US from having a public option healthcare. Don't kid yourself: equality and fraternity of a nation is far more superior and important than personal liberty.

The truth is quite different. Would it surprise you to know that America already is a socialist nation? Entire community pays for the service of soldiers because the entire community benefits. Providing for the common defense is one of the oldest applications of socialism. Even in the pre-civilized era of humanity, everyone who could contribute to a community´s defense. Local fire departments, police forces, schools, libraries, highways, sewer systems… virtually every aspect of community living, all those things that make life in a modern civilized society possible, are all the result of socialism.
Would anyone rather die when they could live, knowing their sacrifice makes an already wealthy person even wealthier? Would you choose such a fate, in the name of capitalism? Would you condemn your child to die for a rich man´s greed? Is that patriotism?
Where capitalism supplies the motive and mechanism to grow and improve a society, socialism provides the foundation on which every society is built. Without socialism, every one of us would be entirely on our own.

So, really, the question is not "Is socialism wrong?" but "What´s wrong with socialism?" We already use it. We already depend on it. And, whether we know it or not, every one of us is already in favor of it. We are a socialist nation.

The evil white man created HIV due to his unethical medical experimentation on africans people. And along with imperialism came white colonization and slavery of free societies and people of color. AND even when slavery was abolished they created apartheid in SA and other apartheid like societies like the USA , which led to african american genocide. This is white european world contributions to mankind. Crimes against humanity is the correct term for these activities and related ones directed at women, workers, minorites. There is only one solution for america. Total collapse of the capitalist system. Anything else is just won't be enough. First, we must focus on a change of system or all these or subsequent thoughts are meaningless. We should have a referendum and allow our people to pick a system of government of their choosing. It should be followed by the implementation of a modern constitution, civilized, forward looking and free of any white prejudice. I have no doubt that with freedom of thought, social justice and economic prosperity will follow.
America is a rich and resourceful country. Our struggle must be uninterrupted with a plan and direction. Be patient. It may seem like a dream right now, but we can do it. Walk tall and be proud my black brothers. Yes We can !

    Comrade Citizen Progressive

    Progressive agenda for 21st-century America

My Fellow Forum Members. Yes, the election is over, but the work has just begun. We progressives should prepare once again to play our role as agents of bold ideas and political social transformation in the Midterm elections in which members of Congress, state legislatures, and some state governors are elected. We progressives will have to reflect a belief in the need for change. We must support our party through charity, through volunteerism, local and state governments, though surely all have a role. We should argue that we need programs that serve our national and international needs and encourage faith in our public institutions, creating a positive cycle of political change and space for further reform, advocate for true reform of our tax system so that everyone pays their fair share.
We progressives should reach out to recruit new members who share our goals and want to join our fight. Our movement lies in being an unapologetic champion for progressive ideas. Finding new confidence and imagination, we have begun to renew our political capital. Just remember this. For struggle, Solidarity and Socialism! I swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Obama. Our laws and his will, according to him. We will not overthrow the government with violence. We shall stand, remain and be the law of his realm forever. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead for Obama to deliver them from evil.

Can someone get rid of this guy? PLEASE.

i like this guy. classic case of sarcasm. you need to get a since of humor. even if the guy is an idiot and believes this crazy mantra we should keep him around. as the great sun tzu said, "if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. if you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."

Why are "conservatives" more motivated to shaft the have nots
I find it ODD that the so called conservatives , say people should pull themselves up with there bootstraps (which is a magic trick never yet to be seen) That Socialism in any form is EVIL and BAD. That people should be self reliant, they should be independent. etc etc etc. The problem with all this to me is it's truly as silly /??

I would like to see, really how many so called Conservatives or so called Libertarians would really give up ALL the Government Programs except for Defense. For example Fire Department , Police Department, State Hospitals, Freeways, Tollways, Almost ALL paved roads other than on Private Property. Sewers, Storm Drainage, Power Grid , Hydroelectric Power, Nuke Power, Universities, public schools, Unemployment Insurance, Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, SSI, Food Stamps , Wic, FEMA, DDA , OSHA, MSHA, CIA , NSA,ATF, FBI, State Police, DMV, Requlations on Profesions, Labor Laws,Street lights.

I find it not more than a little disturbing that so many people seem to be against something without being able or willing to articulate what it is they are against or why they are against it.
Seriously . Why do so many people in the United States become upset over the mentioning of socialism ?

What is "Wrong" with socialist policies? Have you ever been to europe? Do you realise how many socialist policies are already in place in our own country?

Countries like Denmark, Sweden have excellent standards of living and implement many things that you would call socialist. While it's not the be all end all solution, the world doesn't fall apart.

It's dishonest to say that socialism can't work, at all, or somehow diminishes the concept of the individual.

What kind of a life do the McCarthyists that visit this forum think western europeans have exactly?

It would help, for there to be some kind of connect across the political spectrum, to at least accept the existence of other countries/cultures more socialist than the US and that they aren't bad places to live. You don't have any less individual freedoms living in Europe than you do the US, on average, at least not due to any "socialist" policies. If anything socialist policies very often care about the individual - for example that's a big part of welfare, especially when it comes to disabilities. Capitalists just care about the overall system, and the "freedom to fail" - not what happens to the individuals that fall through. If they die, so what. Heck, if unemployment insurance had been in place in 1929, that depression wouldn't have had nearly the impact that it did.

But the THEORIES behind it all conflict with their sense of rights, freedoms and history.

And that gets their backs up, their flags up, and their guns out. At it's heart, people's attitude is selfish and counter productive to living in a wider society. To live in a wider society, this is something we have to do, and overall people have more freedoms because of it. But, it's not as if folks care about other people's freedoms. So let's have an anarcho capitalist system where even MORE people die! Because people die anyway???
But godforbid, we have a mechanism in place that would allow our senior citizens to retire and enjoy their golden years without having to work full time just to pay for their medication?? We've been taught to be against socialism but never taught exactly what socialism is.

It's much easier to teach a generation of people to fear something than to actually teach them about something.

Why are "conservatives" more motivated to shaft the have nots than providing a safety net for yourself should you ever need it? The "socialist" solution isn't perfect, but a capitalism one doesn't exist, at least not on any practical level. It's an imperfection. It's better than not having the system. I think it's much worse if you're 100% "forced" to work all the time. That's just wage slavery. It's nice that there is a net for people who don't mesh well with the working world in general, it's sad, but sometimes it's cheaper to keep them at home on the dole.
