picked this revolver up today.
appears to be a colt new service, however everything about the pistol minus the cylinder latch is in M1917 cofiguration.... also the cylinder seats .45acp at seemingly the proper height. so this leads me to believe the cylinder was intended for .45acp.
seems odd to me, .45 colt barrel and an acp cylinder
at first glance I believed it to be an m1917, but after doing some research I came out inconclusive and assumed it's a post war commercial version of one. but I would really like the comfort of knowing.
now, onto the pictures. note the cylinder as well when it is opened.
and for reference, this is an actual colt M1917
