Hey, it ain't for a lack of wanting on my part! As soon as the wife is well again I plan on getting back into it!
On a side note I got a new set of electronic earmuffs for my birthday. At least I'll be able to hear the range commands now!

    Last one for a while...

    Call it "Don't Miss"

    FYI,
1st set of targets will be at 15 yds
2nd set of targets will be at 25 yds.

The Pepper poppers at 15 yds are directly in front of the no shoot targets, so "don't miss" the peppers!!!

    Another one built tonight...

    "Who's your daddy"?

And yes, the target behind the plate is a "head shot" only. To be fair, I put one on each side...

Do all shots need to be made from the boxes or is the area between them a free fire zone? If you move 1 plate from the left array to the right array, you would have a legal stage. USPSA wants no more than 8 shots mandatory from any one position in a field course.

I meant to draw a red line in there. Yes, everything between the red boxes is a free fire zone (engage as you may)...

Fresh ideas from guys like you and spanky are what keep the sport going. :hi5:

    Last one for the night....

    We're gonna call this one:

    "Pigs in a Blanket" :eek3:

Start with empty gun and mag on the table. At the sound of the buzzer, load weapon, engage each set of targets thru barrel and then the WONDERFUL Texas Star from behind the barricade!

    Course for tonight...

We can call it *insert evil laugh*

    "Barrels of fun"

The barrels are spaced enough so that the shooter can shoot 3 targets per barrel.

Nick, some of your stages have steel directly in front of or adjacent to paper targets. This should be avoided because of scoring complications that can develop from splatter or shots glancing off the steel. Issues like that can slow down scoring and result in reshoots, which slows down the match.

And if you enjoy stage design, check chapters 1 and 2 in the USPSA rulebook carefully to see what is and isn't acceptable in an approved COF and you're well on your way to fame, big bucks and the heartfelt admiration of your shooting peers as a successful stage designer. :D

The ultimate challenge of COF design to get a stage that is truly freestyle (which is the Holy Grail in course design) and still fits snugly within the rules.
