I have been shooting with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 with MOAR reticle and I've decided to not only switch to mil but to also go ffp while I'm at it. Looking for:

-something in the similar magnification range as the 5.5-22
    -first focal plane
    -mil/mil
    -$2000 or less
-an illuminated reticle would be good but not required
    -quality glass

I've looked at options like Vortex Viper and SWFA but I've never seen any of those in person and I'm not sure of quality. I've very hesitant to go to a lesser scope than what I currently have but I'm not really looking to jump all the way up to a S&B or Premier (come on Bannon, convince me). Anybody have any suggestions?

I have the Razor HD 5-20 x 50 MRAD EBR-2B. I like it a lot. Unfortunately, I am headed offshore in the morning otherwise you could have checked it out.

Have you looked into the Valdada's? I have a 6x24x56 that's awesome. The glass is super clear, it's FFP, and it's about in your price range.

The Premier Light Tactical scopes aren't but a few hundred more than your budget for a non-illuminated model. Granted, they're a 3-15 but for top end glass it's a hard scope to beat.

    Vortex Razor 5.5-20
    Bushnell HDMR or ERS 3.5-21

I have the HDMR. When I looked through the Razor and the HDMR, I think the HDMR had better colors/contrast. The Razor had slightly better clarity, but the colors just werent there. Just my eyes though, both are great scopes.
