Typical damage control to placate an overly sensitive outrage.

The better question is...if it is a "scary level of indoctrination", what's the goal? What does anyone gain by convincing kids the holocaust didn't exist? Especially in Cali, don't Jews pretty much own that place?

You don't have to be Jewish to understand or be affected by the Holocaust. As far as convincing kids it didn't exist? Exactly! What is the end game in that? If it didn't change the minds or beliefs of the kids, tell the Sun reporters the truth.

If placating them was the goal, you'd think that admitting the whole thing was stupid, would be enough?!?

California, much to my chagrin, influences many policies in the US that follow their lead.

Remember, for radicals, EVERYTHING is politics.

    Oh, come on....really?

It was one of the most unexpected announcements of the year.

In April, Archie Comics released the news that its lead character, Archie Andrews, would die in an upcoming issue of "Life With Archie."

The story won't affect the overall Archie storylines, as "Life With Archie" takes place in an alternate timeline.

Still, the visual of Archie having been gunned down was quite a shock to fans.

With the issue, "Life With Archie" No. 36, coming out today, we now know more details about how Archie dies (spoiler alert, of course!).

Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in Archie Comics history, is a senator in the "Life With Archie" universe, and he's in favor of gun control.

An attempt is made on Keller's life, and Archie takes the bullet for his friend.

"Archie died as he lived -- a hero, representing the best in all of us," Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater said in a news release.

    Now- where were we?

    Oh yeah.....

For all that think so what, its a good thing to teach critical thinking, answer this. You okay that they are reinforcing the notion that About.com and History.com are worthwhile sources for 'critical thought processes?' Lol.

And how about a little balance in the sources. Like maybe a real holocaust history site.

If you really think there was not the idea that as long as we are teaching critical thinking, it would be a convenient time to slide a little bit of our agenda in alongside, then I've got resort property in the Gobi for you. They just figured that if there was any backlash, they could cover with the exact bullsh1t that the gullible are buying.

Critical thinking course can be very good, providing there is a discussion among students and the teacher afterwards. In the case of the Holocaust, I'm hoping that the teacher set those 50 students straight.

And giving a student who argues that it was fake...citing bogus websites as proof...should have failed the course IMO. Or at least should have had to rewrite their paper.

I can't see why they were limited to those sources for info, I guess it's no longer research and figure out its go find it. Give them the broadest spectrum to gather from and reach conclusions. Or make it very limited as in a court case, where is what we know about a hypothetical topic and based solely on the info provided see if differing opinions emerge.

Yep, this is scarier to me than the topic. People think websites like this are good references - I had students turn in papers to me when I was teaching in college that cited wikipedia.

The topic is a late high school or college topic, but not out of bounds. One of my friends argued in graduate school why rape was good according to Aristotle and a couple other sources and got an A (from a woman no doubt).
