I'd have seen it coming far enough in advance to watch the whole thing on TV from one of a handful of "safe" locations already picked out. The same as with Katrina.

This is definitely not one of those disasters that just pops up overnight. And as little trust as I put in the Federal gov't when it comes to dealing with emergencies, I have to assume they'd at least be competent enough to organize an evacuation across a number of days (weeks?) so that getting out wouldn't be such a terrible situation.

All of the specifics, and especially what I'd do afterwards is the part not fit for public forums.
