Compromise cannot exist when one side is solidly in the right. Everything that they want is a new, further infringement, and anything they can offer to "give back" is already an existing infringement that should be given back without any gain to their side. How many laws need to be added on top of the copious amount of existing laws that already do NOTHING to fix the problem either because they are useless on their face or are not enforced for various reasons? Their legislative efforts are only showpieces to appear to "do something" about actual problems in the eyes of easily lead voters, in service of the true underlying goal of civilian disarmament.

And to be sure - I agree with 100% of this - but I think it happens in the courts, not the legislatures.

I hope it does. I have a less than great feeling about this one.

It's time to hold our congressman and senators responsible for their actions to legislate and push executive bills for gun control. In the 1980's citizens did not know or care what leadership was doing in the cities. We now know per Article VI that the MGA and NFA is unconstitutional: so further regulation is just expansion of tyranny.

We are seeing massive unsustainable systems in cities: everything from law enforcement, energy, sewage, drinkable water. Gun control is a distraction from the fact that we have significant issues across the nation and guess what it's not guns. Active school shooting death rate is .00000671% max over the past fifty years in the US. (NIH) More kids die from poison than guns in and around schools: drugs that are trafficked over our border with Mexico and now a new poisonous cocktail of fentanyl, which has ties to China in it's origin.

We also know that the people behind gun control like the Macron's, Trudeau's, and Biden's of the world are pushing a relentless agenda and they don't seem to want to stop. I believe they are trying to create easier to control markets using lawfare and elite gangsterism.

Do no comply, do not allow your reps to get away with supporting these policies. Throw Article VI at them and the Second Amendment.
Sadly what is going to happen is enough of us will have to die for an folks to take this issue seriously and take action. It's a tale as old as time, and the people always win.

So fight now while you can and be courageous, outspoken, and selfless for our future generations. Because we don't want our grandchildren fighting against tyranny with no guns at their disposal.

If they wanted a solution they would enhance school security by creating compartmentalized barriers and checked entry. Armed guards in schools and allow educators to carry if they choose. And get cops that are willing to put 1* on the line for helpless unarmed kids and teachers.

    God bless and be brave!

    Yes, here’s my list….

Repeal all NFA restrictions on law abiding citizens that give up some of their privacy to our big brother Uncle Sam…… after all, they should have the best fighting chance against criminals and the evil that’s plaguing this country that we try to live peacefully in.

    Simple enough?

I’d be willing to put in place laws that make owning a semi-auto/assault-style rifle require a license, similar to needing a license for a suppressor. Expanded background checks that reach further but are efficient. Increased taxpayer funding for mental health.

I’m not sure if I would do anything different on high capacity mags, I wouldn’t want the limit dragged down so low that it hinders self-defense.

In return: I’ll reinstate Trump as President and claim him the rightful winner of the 2020 election (even though he lost).

Calvary Jim, great thread! While I understand the many who say no compromise but pangris1 hit the nail on the head. If we don't sit at the table and they have the votes, then we the law abiding gun owners lose. Can we get a compromise, probably not. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. I would like to see suppressor, reciprocity, and barrel length restrictions removed. For the protection of our children, the removal of Gun Free Zones.

I believe the government should issues every American 18+ the most modern rifle and pistol in production then offer free training for the rifle or pistol. That would solve the problem.

Firearms training in schools again would definitely be a good thing. Also it would be nice if the LHSA would recognize competition shooting like they do other sports.

With the current flurry of gun control talk, you usually hear the anti-gun folks use the term "compromise" but they never really offer a true compromise. It is usually just chipping away at the 2nd Amendment. Is there a compromise that you would consider? Such as giving up something they want to get something we want?

    - 50 state concealed carry reciprocity
    - elimination of "gun free" zones
    - suppressors sold as any other accessory
    - no restriction on rifle barrel length
That's a good start, but we, the 2nd amendment proponents, always come back from the negotiation table losing more and more Rights and getting nothing in return for our "compromise". Democrats and gun control proponents do not know the meaning of compromise. Compromise to them means, we get what we want and you don't.
Then you have the ATF who can basically create law by "reinterpreting" existing laws, turning citizens into felons overnight. The ATF needs to go and the NFA needs to go. We need to get back to the original meaning of the 2nd amendment, which is "The Right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed". They've done enough infringing!
Read the Constitution, read the Federalist Papers and other writings of the time.
The 2nd amendment doesn't say "shall not be infringed, unless". It says shall not be infringed, period.

They will argue, "Well regulated Militia", part. Saying it gives the government the right to control guns. My Compromise is raise the age to 21 and get ride of the NFA and 1968 gun control act.
Tell that to the people of Ukraine right now. Ask the survivors of the Jewish faith that if they knew what was really going to happen if they would have consented by giving up without a fight. Ask the Vietnamese about having their own weapons. Do you see the issue here? ALL American citizens are the “MILITIA” that our forefathers were speaking about in the constitution. We have given and given and tried to compromise with more and more rights being taken, or actually given, away since people got their feelings hurt over simple bull crap and we let them take a chunk here and a right there and so on until now it’s biting us in the butt. Screw your feelings about trying to take away my rights. You want to take away my rights to defend myself and my family because you’re butt hurt about something that doesn’t even involve you? Talk about narcissistic people, geez! I say no compromise at all and allow me, as a law abiding citizen and a veteran, to enjoy my rights as they were intended. You don’t like it you can always move out to another country. I will help you pack, there’s my compromise. The only thing we as citizens can do is teach people how to appropriately use weapons in a safe manner. If they want to use them for nefarious reasons then do your duty and stop them.

Keep the faith unless someone/something seeks total power. Democrats do not realize how many minorities are gun owners and anti-abortion. They are also thinking all of these illegal immigrants they are letting in are guaranteed votes for them, and they are not.

I don't know if the lady on the View accidentally slipped or is that dumb.

I agree they should. Picked up bowling, fishing, and Esports now. I think they would never touch shooting sports though.

For those that think about constantly compromising here is a quote for you. Let’s see if anyone can guess who said it.

The government is afraid of the guns people have because they have to have control of the people at all times. Once you take away the guns, you can do anything to the people. You give them an inch and they take a mile. I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government. The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful, and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control.

Take a wild guess!! The answer will surprise the hell out of everyone.
