If you want to try something a little different, go to Cafe Dolce in Mandeville and have them make you a grilled muffaletta panini. I'm not sure it's on the menu but they'll do it, and it's friggin' delicious.

Is the DiMartino's on the northshore as good as the one on the Westbank?

Their roast beef and potato salad are awesome.

Masperro's makes a good muffaletta if you're in the quarter and Central Grocery is out.

Went to Dimartino's when they first opened... it sucked, honestly the worst Muff I ever had. 20$ and less than 1/4" of meat it pretty hard to screw up a Muffaletta and they did royally.

+1 for Bosco's on route 59 in Mandeville. It's so big you'll get at least two whole meals out of it and the flavor is outstanding.

You might order a second Muff. bun and extra olive salad because you CAN literally make a second muffaletta.

Thing abount going to Nor Joe and it's not such a bad thing, is you'll probably find cheeses, olive oil, cookies and other goodies you'll end up buying. Honestly, Nor Joe has a tendency to get complacent and inconsistant but lately they have been really good and right up there with Central Grocery. They're using a better bread now. BTW, you'd just as well get two muffs if you do go to Nor Joe. If not you'll kick yourself later.

They are prepared at the Westbank location and baked in Covington.
Edit: the Covington location is priced high for what it is in my opinion. We used to eat there about once a week, then meal prices shot up. It is rare that we go there now and I live about 45 seconds away.
