Call me what you will but my tactical 22 is a 10/22 with a good scope and bx-25 magazines. It does the deed very well and has brought more small critters than I can remember to their end. I would love that m&p 15-22 though.

I like my Sig 522 it takes Black Dog mags that come apart if need cleaned. It runs with any ammo

If you want "cheap" then the Mossberg is a choice. The only reason I would choose one of those is if I could get one for 100 bucks. I will bring it up again about cleaning the rifle. The Mossberg requires you take 15 or more screws to break it down. For me that is a big deal breaker. Unless you are dedicated to spending that much time just dissassembling then I think you will grow tired of doing it and this not shoot it as often.

The M&P 15-22 is by far the best production AR pattern .22 around.

I've owned the sig, M&P, and now a custom AR-22, and the M&P just flat out works. I disliked the sig, and my custom is an integral, otherwise I'd have a M&P.

We will not carry the Mossberg Tactical 22's in our store. They are available on our website only because it is a complete listing of our major suppliers' inventory, but the Mossberg Tactical 22's are cheap plastic toys IMO.

    I have a GSG-5 and a M&P 15-22 and both are good firearms. I give my preference to the M&P 15-22.

A few others that I am interested in are the Legacy Sports M-1 Carbine 22LR Wood Stock

    I love my Sig 522

Eats whatever I put in it. Only jams I've had so far has been with the Remington subsonics
i also have 2 10/22s my 522 is more reliable and groups tighter, you do not want the mossturd tactical .22 its a plinkster 702 w/ a plastic non functional ar styled shell. the 522 has a metal upper & real rail system. mags are 10 bucks a pop and IMO blackdog mags are the bee's knees when it comes to .22 mags cant beat em !! look @ Nutin fancy's review of the 522 i love mine. i use(not train) with it more than any of my other rifles. its caused the end of many a pest/critter. i got my Eotec & 3x mag on it

I've got the m&p 15-22. My son (9 years old) and I have put 8,000 rounds through it. Easy to keep track when you buy 500 at a time. It's a great little rifle. Works fine on squirrels and rabbits and is a bane to clay pigeons on a berm. I've only shot federal bulk ammo out of it, but it has never jammed. I got the MOE version and put all the magpul gear on my ar-15. Good deal all around.

I have a M&P15-22 PC and I love it. I like it because its light, reliable, you can swap in AR parts such as a trigger kit, and handguards(with adapter). I shoot this gun by far more than any others I own. After shooting mine my bro in law and cousin went and bought each one.

I would stay clear of the "Colt". It is a licensed Umarex, and don't let the extra weight fool you into thinking its a better quality gun. Hell unscrew the flash hider and see what happens! It uses a pencil barrel with a shroud covering it and the tension from the flash hider holds the barrel in the receiver, not a barrel nut.
I guess it really comes down to your budget and how much you want to spend. The 10/22 is a great gun. It's accurate out the box and can be made into anything you want from a M-60, tommy gun, G36, or even a PS90.

I think you need to let me take in that wounded pup 15-22 so I can try and bring it back to life. I will give it lots of love.
