Sent Remington an email yesterday inquiring about the differences between the Express and Wingmaster.
Here is their response.
"The Express and Wingmaster shotguns are produced exactly the same way. Only the finish and stock material is different. The wingmaster is more polished but all of the parts will interchange. The barrels are manufactured as one solid piece with the barrel support ring brazed onto the barrel. This is true on both models."
"Removing the detents will void the warranty on the magazine tube alone, not the entire gun. If these are removed, the protective coating on the magazine tube is compromised and corrosion may occur. Factory built tactical guns do not have these detents installed."
