didn't see a swamp people topic. season 3 started last night. same old stuff i agree but i can't help watching. liz has a cute helper. they where interesting to watch pulling in a 13' 6" gator. but it looks like they turned up the bad acting this season. lots of fake accidents and fake drama.

i understand the show isn't made for us. its all good except for those native americans in the air boat. i can not stand it when the older one opens his mouth. he best never make the mistake and try to pull me over and check my boat.

i heard troy got paid several million dollars to do whatever the history wants him to do for a few years. dumb rumor?

they sensationalize the death role, and having been behind their dumb asses gator hunting.. They leave trash such as chicken wrappers and crap all over the place.. I spent more time picking trash up then I did gators..

for the record, it was not Troy, it was others.. but still..

Good for troy for whatever he earns..

    Personally, I love the show.

IMO, if you don't like it, don't watch it. Same for SoG.

Yes, it's television and some of it is "done up" for ratings. Big deal. It's better than watching Hee Haw, or whatever else is on.
TV in general sucks these days, at least with these two shows it's a taste of home. Plus, it's money coming into Louisiana.

Yeah, I'm not big on the whole native American schtick. If they aren't playing that up, and that's how they are.. well, good luck to them.

Troy, and Joe are my favorites on the show. I'd drink a beer with them anytime.

At least I know what my history and culture really is. I don't care what's on TV or other's negative opinions as a result. Sure, if they ask, I'll inform them that the show is exaggerated.

Of course, I'm only have Cajun, but still....

Is it me, or do the two guys from Houma seem to have a near-armed confrontation with "poachers" every week? :deadhorse:

I was glad to see the show back. Sure it is campy at times and I hope no one is using it as a learning lesson before heading out with a .22 to hunt, but I dig it. Wish they would have shown Joe & Tommy the first week back, surely they'll be on next week.

The two "native American" midgets combined would make one whole douche nozzle. One minute claiming Indian heritage and beliefs and next praising god? Too much bragging for me.

Joe and Tommy are cool as hell. Troy is a nice guy and would give you the shirt off his back. The rest are out to get rich and famous and playing it up to attempt it.

Oh, and Glenn and Mitchell, yeah, they alright but the rest of the world thinks that's us now.

Didn't see them confront poachers last season but looking at the preview for next week it looks like they just might. Looking forward to see how this is exaggerated. At least when Troy and Junior crossed boundaries they tried to figure it out like civilized people and parted ways peacefully when it was resolved.

Further, can you say Cajun guidos? :)

My wife works with a lady who met Tommy and Joe at Boomtown Casino. She said they were both really nice guys.

We make a point to watch the show every week; the kids love it. I cant think of any reality show that doesnt have at least a little bit of injected drama and danger. You guys ever watch Gold Rush? Talk about a soap opera.

My wife loves the show except for the indian guys. Her parents hang out with Terrel every now and then on the Pearl. He seems like a really cool guy. I agree that they dramaticize it, but that's tv, you know?

Yes the recent rash of "over dramatized" Louisiana "reality shows" can be a bit embarrassing at times but just be glad you don't live near the Jersey Shore.
