Most of us here know how boring or how exciting fishing, hunting, etc. can be depending on if you are catching/shooting what you want. But none of it is fun to watch, they have to dramatize it somehow. I catch it every now and then, but mostly its just on while I am doing something else.

I like watching it just like Sons of Guns( because they are mildly entertaining), but these shows are not made for us they are made for the rest of the country. If you know just a little about what really goes on you see how much BS they are forceing into the shows.
Troy didnt get paid jack for the first two seasons but they had to back up a Brinks truck to his store for season 3 - and good for him!

I enjoy watching it because I have met Troy a couple of times when I go buy my catfish bait from Duffy's and he has always been really nice to my son. In an upcoming show, filmed during TS Lee, I was there when he brought in another 13 footer and he let my son go sit on it and take a photo. Yes, there is alot of scripting going on, but at least they do really well to make it entertaining.

My wife loves the show except for the indian guys. Her parents hang out with Terrel every now and then on the Pearl. He seems like a really cool guy. I agree that they dramaticize it, but that's tv, you know?

terrel is a dick which is probably one of the reasons why his contract wasnt renewed. he comes into my girlfriends work all the time to eat. it seems like the show went to his head

I liked it but got burnt out on it. Same thing, over and over and over again.

    My favorite is Gold Rush.

LOL if Gold Rush isn't the same thing replayed every week.
    Every episode:

    Argument/fight
    machine Breaks
They are going to lose the lease
everyone has everything riding on this
    people have bills

EVERY EPISODE has these qualities in it.

We met Joe and Tommy at a charity softball game for the Saints. My wife and I walked up on em and hollered "hey what's up" like we knew them or something. They hollered the same thing. They were both super cool and laid back. Real nice guys. But by the end of the game Tommy was trashed! He'd been drinkin aaaalllllllllll day!

There has been a big "Swamp in the City" event at Chelsea Market (New York City) for the past week. John Folse is doing the cooking, they have an alligator pen and have had Joe, Troy and others stop by during the week. A lot of interest from the people up here. As for the show, it is family entertainment that brings money and additional interest to Louisiana. That is a good thing IMO.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Oh, gotta wipe the tears off my face. That's funny!

Seems we are at least multi-regional.

As for the show, bring it. Means more gator meat. Some of those guys are buttheads; others are genuinely nice. It makes for quite an entertaining show. Anyone watch it muted?

If y'all enjoy Gold Rush you'll really like Bering Sea Gold. The third episode was on last night. Really interesting how easy it is to suck gold off the ocean floor in only 10-15 feet of water. I've got plenty of dive gear and a shop vac...anybody want to pitch in a bay boat.

My wife works with a lady who met Tommy and Joe at Boomtown Casino. She said they were both really nice guys.

We make a point to watch the show every week; the kids love it. I cant think of any reality show that doesnt have at least a little bit of injected drama and danger. You guys ever watch Gold Rush? Talk about a soap opera.
i was at cats meow during football season, joe was there, by himself,i went over and asked him if he was indeed joe lafont.he confirmef what everyone else in the bar was wondering.we hung out the rest of the day, drinking miller lites,he is a hell of a nice guy.he has come to a few parties since then

So Gold Rush is full of bull **** homo drama I assume?

Caught a few minutes of the Bering Sea show earlier, all they did was scream at each other or read dialog that sounded like it was being read off a cue card. The commercial for the upcoming episode doesn't look much different.
