I havent added gas or oil. Figured it would store better that way, but yeah thanks for the reminderAbsolutely . Check the oil first .

Changing oil is harped on in the gen world, must be a good reason! My son used my Generac Inverter generator during the hurricane so I changed the oil in it a little while ago . Probably didn't need it but now I know where I stand .
Yeah , I don't get it . OPE can go for a lot of hours but it seems like generators need oil changes after every use . Well , that may be exaggerating a bit but you know what I mean .Changing oil is harped on in the gen world, must be a good reason!
Yep, my 2000watt gen doenst hold a lot of oil and is easy to change so i stick to the schedule as much as possible.Yeah , I don't get it . OPE can go for a lot of hours but it seems like generators need oil changes after every use . Well , that may be exaggerating a bit but you know what I mean .
Did they just run it for a long time (nonstop?) without shutting it down for maintenance?Buddy bought a N gas generac after Katrina & His family went to his house for a week while he was away. His regularly changed Moble1 was burnt & 1 1/2 qt low. That one was Mitsubishi Car engine, my Mon’s has Onan V twin Generac. Mom’s runs on propane & the oil always looks brand new. The Natural gas & Propane run very clean compared to Dino juice. I bet the fuel, engine design & Cooling system are what affects your oil the most. Cooling is Very important.
I change oil frequently, in everything. From new oil to the oil change, the viscosity can fall out of grade and the additive package depletes through the oil's life. I keep short OCIs (oil change intervals) so those oil properties are kept high, closer to new.Yep, my 2000watt gen doenst hold a lot of oil and is easy to change so i stick to the schedule as much as possible.
Seen him twice in N.O.'s, Great show!Sounds like an Eric Clapton song "River of Tears" EC wrote it after his 5 or 6 yo son fell out of a floor to ceiling window in NYC, 25 stories up. His mother's apartment, Clapton's estranged wife at the time. I saw him perform it at the Superdome somewhere around 1997 I'm gonna guess. I'd go again tomorrow to see him sing/play it again, at most any cost. Good grief what a moving song. I read his book, his bio, a great read. EC was an alcoholic and drug abuser for decades. The death of his young son didn't help.
Lord, how long have I got to keep on running?
Seven hours, seven days or seven years?
All I know is, since you've been gone
Feel like I'm drowning in a river
Drowning in a river of tears
Drowning in a river
Feel like I'm drowning
Drowning in a river
