The NOPD and EMS had a Rally’s on Carrollton Ave in New Orleans shutdown for an hour while they were attempting to wake up someone with his hand on a Glock 19 in the drive through. The concern was that the gun was pointed at his thigh, so did not want to him to shoot himself.
After he woke up, they ran his name, administered a field sobriety test, then released on at the scene.

Have you not listened to the experts in Congress?
You can kill 30 people with a full clip in under 10 seconds.
Only the United States Coastguard and Civil Air Patrol(United States Air Force Auxiliary) should have that kind of rifle.

As to the comments about the rifle, I don’t know why anyone representing any police department would actually say what is quoted. I think maybe that person was misquoted. It’s very possible he said, ‘anyone in the car or immediate area could have been killed’, but everyone would have been killed? Come on man.
