If you think that in times of chaos, only women are raped, or even the majority are women... I think you'd be hard pressed to prove it.

I'm pretty sure the women of Berlin can fill you in on what happened to them when the Russians took their city at the end of WWII.

I said it WAS NOT her fault. My point was she was taking and unnecessary risk and should have know the consequences. She did not deserve to be beaten, raped, or mugged, but should have know that was a possibility.

When I play with fireworks, I realize I could get burned.
When I use a table saw, I realize I could get cut.
When I drive my car, I realize I could be injured or even killed.

Hell, when I step out of my apartment in Baton Rouge, I realize I am in a **** hole and anything could happen.

My POINT: The day I get burned/cut/injured/killed or whatever ,it will be no surprise to me, as those are the risks I take. I certainly dont "deserve" for any of the previous things to happen, but my lifestyle choices will dictate the probability of that happening. Should I want more danger in my life I will be a reporter in an unstable area.

I tend to agree with the above statement. Egypt has over 2/3rds of it's population under 30 years old and many, many are college educated. "Ignorant rag heads" were not using twitter and facebook to organize a revolution.
But, after I read what happened to Lara,,,it appears she was attacked by anti Americans and saved by women and soldiers. I tend to believe she was attacked by the Mubarak supporters. She had a security detail.
But she was also escorted out of the country a couple of days earlier by Mubarak's police.
Lara does appear to be the go to newscaster for pro American news. She has been imbedded with the US troops many many times.
I kind of think that the pro-Mubarak crowd wanted to send her a message. Kind of a revenge attack since they lost control.
FWIW,,,I really liked Lara,,,and am disgusted with this attack. The attackers are fricking predators.
