Well a friend of my wife bought us tickets to a Cowboy Mouth concert at the casino in BR last night so after a long day of walking the woods we went. I've never seen them before and after seeing them last night I don't think I'll ever go see them again. Don't get me wrong, they were entertaining and talented, but just not my cup of tea. I could not understand one word of any song they sang. It was so loud, but that's part of the show I know, but just didn't do it for me. Is this one of those moments when you realize that your concert days may be over, or maybe if I saw them at another venue and not so tired I would of liked them? Who knows, but when my ass layed down last night to go to sleep I had the biggest **** eating grin you ever saw.

It's not just you, they suck. But they're kind of like passing a bad car wreck. You know you shouldn't stop and look but you just can't help it. And you can unsee what you've just seen.

Kinda like my response to Kid Rock's concert at Sturgis. I did like the Doobie Brothers, but after a few songs by the Kid I was glad to see the rain startup -- gave us a good excuse to leave! I wasn't much of a fan before the concert, even less afterward.

While it has been several years since I've seen them I used to really enjoy their shows. But it was typically smaller venues in New Orleans.

I've seen them a few times and always enjoyed their shows. I guess it is tough If you don't know any of the tunes....... but the 2 times I saw them at Jazz Fest they were electrifying, saw them at House of Blues and once again a good show. I also saw them at Gretna Fest with another stellar performance.

You have to realize that this is raw music. There are no voice enhancers or other dubbed effects. The drummer is drumming his ass off and singing at the same time........

If you get tickets again and don't want to go, give me a PM!!;)

    Cowboy Mouth ---- Fred Leblanc
Overrated monkey inspired drama queen. Even when I used to open for him back in the day he was an obnoxious look at me bleeding heart gay boy. One song about losing a girl is one thing but a whole album of it.....? Grow a pair, Fred! Whine, cry, sob......Fred needs to get a dose of testosterone enema!!

After reading the above post I see that my initial impression of this band was not too far off the mark. I like the ear plug suggestion and will prolly try that next time. I'll probably look like goofball but at the end of the night , but who gives a crap. Yea the drummer/ lead singer was pretty full of himself but from what I saw that's part of the show. What's the story behind a breakup with a girl and making an album?

He's always breaking up with chicks and crying and writing about it. He's a Lifetime/Hallmark channel kinda guy and he violins about every freakin' thing in life. His rants are outdated and irrelevant just like his musicality.

Sounds like the guy version of one of the most popular female country singers in the world.

How many people were in the audience? I am trying to figure something out.

I worked with them once when I lived in California. Never heard of them before (as I had not yet lived in New Orleans). We were setting up the stage and micing everything up and I had a short conversation with Fred. He sounded like a pretty normal guy. Their show is over the top. Raw and in your face. Fred climbed up on the stacks and hung from the trussing (literally). I enjoyed the show and the crowd seemed to like it a lot.

Saw them at a Mardi Gras ball years ago, great show. Could care less about the people personally, many of us would be very disappointed upon meeting some of the acts we enjoy.
