With what I own it would have to be Colt 1911 45cal. Next would try to also carry my Springfield XD9 subcompact with hollow points.

I recently shot a Colt Python 6 1/2 inch revolver. I think it would serve double duty (defense / hunting) very well. The balance and point-ability of the gun was perfect. The trigger pull was perfect, single or double action. I believe that I could do a double action trigger pull accurately in a defensive situation. It was a natural pointer and I believe that I could hit game with it also. Just my opinion, not trying to start any argument over gun brands or calibers.
