In Limited 10 will the 10 round power mags be too long or it doesnt matter?

In Single Stack the rules say flush mags. Can the mags have bumpers?

I dont see anything in the rules about magwells in Limited 10 and Single Stack?

No problem with mags in Limited 10...same rules apply as Limited

    "Maximum magazine length 5.561” (141.25mm) or 6.742”
    (171.25mm) in single stack guns"

Re magwells, no problem in Limited 10. Single stack, as long as still make 43 ounces or less with empty magazine for overall weight.

As far as mag bumpers in SS, as long as you meet the following:
    "Handgun with empty magazine
inserted must fit wholly within a box
    with internal dimensions of 8 15/16” x
    6” x 1 5/8” (tolerance +1/16”, -0”)
    (8.938” x 6” x 1.625”) (227.01mm x
    152.40mm x 41.28mm)"

Thanks for asking all of these questions bigtattoo79 you have really peaked my interest as well. So is it possible to just pay your dues on that website and show up with a gun and some ammo and get this thing rolling. I literally have no pride so I don't care if I look like a moron. I just enjoy shooting.

Just show up the first time and shoot. We'll get you situated in the right division for your gear. No need to become a USPSA member for a local match. Newbies shoot the first nearly free. You'll want to become a USPSA member and a local club member eventually to have your classifiers count and to get lower match fees for the local match.

You need USPSA membership to enter a Level II match like the Gator Classic, or a Level III like Area 4.

Edited to add: Make sure you like it, then support the sport by joining USPSA which helps make it all happen. You'll get Front Sight magazine as a member. Come to a local match once first and see if you're hooked...most people are after one match...that's why the first one is nearly free (IIRC, you just pay the $3 classifier fee which goes to USPSA) ;)

In Limited 10 will the 10 round power mags be too long or it doesnt matter?Power mags are what most use with a 1911 in L-10

In Single Stack the rules say flush mags. Can the mags have bumpers?Yes, as long as the gun, with mag inserted, fits into the "box". Standard bumpers shouldn't be a problem as long as your rear sight isn't too tall

I dont see anything in the rules about magwells in Limited 10 and Single Stack? S&A magwells are fine for Open, Ltd, L-10, and SS
Carry "type" holster required for SS and Production
Any safe holster that covers trigger guard for all others

I cant say how thankful I am for all the great help from everyone. I just want to pick a division that has a lot of competitors. The first division I pick is the one I want to stay with for awhile and give it a fair chance I am not one to jump around a lot. As of right now I am going to pick one of the three Production/Limited 10 or Single stack.

My wife is a LEO so I think she will just want to shoot her G23 in the production division.

    Thanks

I went to a match over in Amite back around June. I had no idea about divisions or anything. I went with LSP972 paid my money and shot. All I worried about was that I just didn't want to come in last. I had fun and didn't come last. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Great point. I just thought that there would be more people in single stack than production.
    What about L 10 ?

I just got a e-mail from a guy that goes to southern shooting center and he said on a month that people want to shoot production it would be about 8-12 people.

I'd say 10-12 would be a more fair estimate. There are more recent matches with > 12 shooters than there are < 10.

As far as L10, usually you have a handful, same as SS.

To get an idea of the breakdown go to lagator.org and click on the uspsa clubs (EAPS, CAS, TPS) and check the score sheets. They are broken down by division.
