I'd say 10-12 would be a more fair estimate. There are more recent matches with > 12 shooters than there are < 10.

As far as L10, usually you have a handful, same as SS.

To get an idea of the breakdown go to lagator.org and click on the uspsa clubs (EAPS, CAS, TPS) and check the score sheets. They are broken down by division.

It does seem that Ltd. gets the most.

I did what you said and if I understood it correct it seems out of production
single stack and L10. Production has the most shooters on a average (not all the time). Did I understand that correct??

Production It is I made my mind up. I have been wanting a reason to look for a fullsize 9mm anyway :D.

Any tips on guns and gear for production feel free to pass them my way.

    Thanks

CZ75 point like a 1911, glock points like a glock, either one would do the trick:D
Just find one that point's natural for you!

I do love Glocks but I think I wanna give something else a try.

The guns Iam looking at so far are the CZ75 / S&W M&P / H&K.

My wife is just going to shoot her duty G-23 (and dont dare say anything about her glock ).

I'd go with an m&p over a 75b because of the dao over sa/da.

Unless there is a dao 75b then get whichever you like the best.

The m-p for the money is very reliable, easy to shoot and accurate, it is taking a good bite out of glock in the production ranks. The glock will be available next year with a removable palm swell if that is any clue.

Ok, I am bias on the gun for Production. CZ all the way. I have the CZ 85 Combat (bought back in 2004) that comes with Ambi controls and fully adjustable sights. Cheap to obtain, all steel, very accurate, reliable and points like a 1911 to me. Just get a trigger job on it and it is ready to go.

The 75 is good and the SP01 is the cats meow

I just bought the M&P Pro 9mm to take a crack at Production. I already had four Glocks, but as stated, they just don't point and shoot like the 1911's I'm familiar with. Not to mention the M&P has a good trigger right out of the box.

Any of the pistols mentioned can take you to the winner's circle. The most important thing (other than safety) is to have fun.

    See you next Sunday.

As Buddy says, remember that it's the Indian not the arrow.

I personally like the Glock 34. It's a proven platform that works for me. It fits like a comfortable shoe because I've put tens of thousands of rounds down range with one. Most people who like the grip angle of the 1911 style pistols don't like Glocks and vice versa. I contend that a well set up gun coupled with practice is all you need. I don't care for the 1911/2011 grip angle, but had no trouble hammering plates from the first shot when a buddy put his STI Executive in my hands. Unfortunately, he asked for it back :D

In thinking of the guys in our local clubs whom I would consider the top shooters in Production over the last few years, the people whose skills I admire, I can list people who shoot Glocks, Sigs and CZs. Over the next year or so I will probably add some S&W and SAs to that list as their numbers increase and new shooters enter the fold. Most of the top guys stick with the platform they have and are used to.

The key to success: find something you like and practice with it until you can't miss ;)

    Down to 2 guns H&K or S&W M&P

Just make sure that, if you go H&K, it's on the following list of approved models for Production. For whatever the reason, H&K seem to have next to no presence in the Production division.

    "HK45 45ACP (31.96 oz.), HK45 Compact 45ACP (28.16 oz.), P 30L 9mm (27.52 oz.), P2000 (22 oz.), P30 9mm (25.52 oz.), P7 (28 oz.), P8 (25.27 oz.), USP 45 Auto (30.4 oz.), USP 9mm (27.04 oz.), USP Compact 9mm (25.5 oz.), USP Compact .40 S&W (26.4 oz.), USP Compact 45 Auto (28.16 oz.), USP Compact Stainless 9mm (25.5 oz.), USP Compact Tactical .45 (30.08 oz.), USP Tactical 40 .40 S&W (32.32 oz.), USP Tactical 45 .45acp (32.48 oz.), USP Tactical 9mm (29.11 oz.), USP40 .40S&W (29.11 oz.), USP9SD 9mm (28.16 oz.)
Tactical models in DAO only. DAO DA/SA models only. USP Expert and Combat Competition not allowed due to magwell."
