You act like cops are the only people who deal with scum on a daily basis. That's not a valid excuse. A more appropriate response would be to talk about how giving someone power changes them. It's the badge, not the people. Stanford Prison Experiment? You should be familiar with that. Do you feel this applies to police? Or do you dismiss it as irreverent?
To be VERY clear, I no longer hang out with your beloved LEO's. Not because they are now better than me, an old friend. I do it after having one pull his gun out in Bulldog while **** drunk. I don't talk to them after watching an entire group do shot after shot at the bar then DRIVE. Don't you dare sit here and insinuate that "they" are better than "us.''
That incident should have been reported and I believe falls in my never should have been given a badge and gun category.
Let me try again,
For a police officer to have the respect and consideration needed to adequately do the job, said LEO HAS to live his life cleaner.
He can't be in bars falling down drunk and armed.
He can't come home from said bar and punch out his wife.
He should not let his truck or home get repossessed.
If he's a member of a sex orgy club, he'd better hide it well or cut it out.
He can't lose his temper when someone with an agenda sticks a camera in his face.
And so on ad nauseum.
Sadly morals and ethics are rapidly becoming a thing of the past.....
But when you hire less than qualified applicants and these things happen, don't be surprised when they f*ck up and cost your administration money.
