Re-reading the article the police actually encountered 4 men (4 diff names in article) and arrested 3. So one was not arrested or charged. I didn't catch that on the first pass. Marijuana is so common today, but when you mix it with firearms, bam you catch a charge most times. Won't be long recreational usage of weed will be legal in LA, imo. Right next to the SLU campus now are signs nailed to wooden utility poles "Get your medical marijuana card today". By the RA head shop. They just popped up in the last week or so.

Apparently “medical” covers a lot more than just glaucoma or cancer. Find a sympathetic doctor. Tell him your nerves are bad and weed is the only thing that helps. Boom, weed Rx.

Is that how it works in Louisiana? I thought they only approved it to be prescribed for certain conditions.

In California and Washington state you were able to get a doctors prescription for pot for just about anything. Trouble sleeping, trouble eating, anxiety, headaches, social anxiety, just about anything you could imagine they would prescribe it for. I want to say I remember seeing something on the local news about Louisiana not wanting prescriptions for pot to be like that here and doctors were only allowed to prescribe it for a handful of different conditions. We had a few guys during my time in the navy attempt to go get prescriptions for it and they quickly learned that federally it is still illegal and not allowed in service lol.

I’m glad the people that use Mary J. aren’t allowed to drive or operate machinery either. They should also lose all the other rights given to Americans. Oh wait….only the 2A is in jeopardy if one steps out of line. No one that’s impaired should be handling firearms or anything else that could cause harm to themselves or someone else. But color outside the lines in kindergarten may be another reason used to deny one’s right to the 2A in the future.

C'mon, bruh! One or the other, but you can't do both together. Stroll around with 108 grams of weed, and nobody would know, and if they did, likely wouldn't care. Stroll around with an AR pistol, people will know, people may be concerned, but now totally legal (excepting the prohibited felon). It's a good thing lots of criminals is stoopid!

I should have taken a picture of the TV last Friday. But was not sure of copywrite. Friday night on OP-Live there was a guy someone called 911 on, in Ohio.
Cops came out he was in full gear, helmet and all. Open Carry Sidearm, full size shotgun and an ammo holder full of shells.
He just tells the cops I am open carry legal Right? We have had crimes here in the subdivision so out patrolling.
Sorry if I alarmed you or anyone. They said it's your right no laws broken.

I pointed out this story at work and said that there had to be more to it than what was reported. Otherwise, the stop would not be justified and everything that resulted from it would have to be thrown out of court.

If one of the officers recognized the felon, that would justify the stop. If the men were pointing the guns around and scaring people, that would justify it. Otherwise, just walking around with a gun is not illegal unless in a prohibited place.
