    I thought this looked familiar.

I just played along... He makes this post everytime he gets his feelings hurt about a gun he wants to sell or trade.

I personally have never and (most likely) will never trade firearms or knives. I don't think I've ever sold any of my own guns on here either. Definitely not in recent history. I also haven't bought a used firearm on here recently. Why? I like new things.

If I were to buy a used firearm, I would want >33% off retail price, at the absolute minimum. Maybe 40-50%. Otherwise, I would just prefer to buy new. Most people aren't willing to take that big of a loss.

I don't know, I've seen a few items I'd be interested in recently...right after committing to a house purchase. Now all my excess cash is no longer available. Where were you guys selling the things I like back in November before my wife found "the one?"

I like new as well. Seeing how things are treated keeps me away from most used items, but I'll make an occasional exception.

I don't get rid of my guns either. I don't own piles of guns, I own a small stack of refined guns and I am content. Of course the Gun Monkey is always on my back but that greedy little bastard's diet has been modified to ammunition, ammunition components, gun parts and lube.

I do peruse the LGC on this forum sometimes though. Nothing wrong with daydreaming. LOL

Occasionally listings catch my eye. Once in a while that encounter influences me to grab something related to something I already have, which is always cheaper. Feeding a smaller morsel to the Gun Monkey!

I seem to remember you listing a S&W Shield 9mm here on BS once. You ever own a Shield 9mm in the last 8 or 10 years?

Nick Lasseigne of Nick's Gun Shop and Range in Garyville once told me many years ago "handguns are a decent investment long term, rarely do you lose money on them long term". He's been in the business for prob 40 years, and I agree with him 100% looking back. Look at what has happened to new revolver prices in the last 3 or 4 years? All name brand revolvers cost way more today than just 5 years ago. New Colt Pythons today start at $1350 and up. A Python purchased new back in the 70s or 80s will yield you 5 to 10 times what you spent back then today, sold "used". Smith, Colt, or Ruger, nobody losing money on those if you held it 10 or 20 years.

But I agree bs market is stale.. I have moved a lot of item in ar15.com for asking price plus shipping.. I usually just try local and knock off $20-$50 plus shipping for a while before I go on there lol… maybe Louisiana is being hit pretty
