Howdy everyone! The name is Jeff and I am from Westwego Louisiana. I was recently almost mugged and so I am wanting to get into hand guns for protection. I am a newbie whenever it comes to this stuff but essentially I know I want a Glock, I think I want the Glock23 .40 cal but I still have only seen pictures. If you have a glock that you want to sell, please feel free to message me at kraftmacincheese@yahoo.com
Nice meeting all of y'all! God bless!

If you want some training there are plenty of people here that can give you some training for a conceal carry license.

Sorry about what happened. Just make sure it doesnt happen again! :D

Howdy chip! :) Haven't seen ya since the last time I saw ya!
Yeah I have begun the shopping. Thinkin of going to a pawn shop today and see what they have in stock.
    @guate shooter-
I have shot stuff before just don't own a gun. I would buy a bazooka if I could but I don't think that's legal for conceal carry lol

Hiya, Jeff!!! Welcome to the family. So... what's your favorite snack?

    Welcome

If you are "new" to guns why not start with a 9mm???? just a thought, Glock19 is the little sister of the 23, easier to learn on.

Guano_shooter is correct. A 9mm is a good caliber, very cheap (practice a lot), and easier on that hands. The .40 you mentioned is extremely powerful, but not nearly as cheap as the 9mm. Just a thought.

    Welcome K-mac

I wouldn't recommend a pawn shop to buy a gun. They are typically overpriced. Watch the classifieds for a little bit and maybe even post a WTB ad for exactly what you are looking for.

Yea I will think about it. Really it's all gonna come down on to price and how long it will take me to drop someone. I am a big guy so I can take a bit of power from a gun.
And yes I do like some mac in cheese :) But actually I am more of a sushi guy. The wife just thought of that name a long time ago for an email address so I just kept it ever since.
Sushi.. and OYSTERS! I love me some raw oysters.

I wont get into the enchilada of what caliber is better.

I will do say a quote from an Instructor whom I took a class under whos name I wont share.

When asked why he chose the 9mm over the other his response was.

"Every single person that I have shot with it while being deployed overseas, NEVER had a chance to complain about the lack of stopping power, it worked for me when I needed it the most"

Here are some blankets for your statement....you know.....to keep it warm. :mamoru:

Just messing with you. Not all pawn shops are overpriced. We sell new in box Glocks cheaper than Acadamy and our used guns are priced VERY well. Just stay away from the shady shops that need to call in an "expert".

Richies, I agree with you and have bought from you in the past....

However, K-mac sounded like he was going to hit the first shop on the way home from work, not drive out of state and take another suggestion
