Both are great but the 92 is a little heavier. . I think. . The 17 is a great piece but so is the 92.. hope that helps.

Seriously though the 92 can fire from single action as well as double and has a hammer. . If you want to be different go with a 1911 and if you really want to be different get a revolver.

You already know which one you want---don't worry what we like---I own both and would be hard pressed to
have to part with either---some days are Glock days, some days are Beretta days. Let us know what you buy.
    Gook Luck!!!

Both great guns. The one you shoot better is the one that you will have the most confidence in using. Which one do you shoot better?

If I could only have one, I'd go with the Glock. Simple, reliable, vast array of parts and accessories readily available.

I've owned the G17 and still have one "in the family" but my daily go-to is a 19. Capacity wise, the 19 will accept 17 mags, but you get some added concealability with the 19. I have about 3K to 4K rounds through my current Gen 4 Glock 19. I shoot the cheapest FMJ that I can find at any time and I have never cleaned the gun. Malfunctions are few and far between, and when the occur, it's either ammo or because of the Korean mags that I use for classes.

I still own a Beretta 92F. It's a beautiful piece and fun at the range, but I would never choose it as my primary, or secondary for that matter. One huge issue is the safety lever location which I have found lends itself to being accidentally engaged while racking the slide and/or clearing malfunctions :nono:. That saftey was added as an afterthought based on military request and can't be engaged/disengaged without contorting your hand off the grip. Glocks have no external safety.

You can go to The Shooters Club and rent either one. St Bernard Indoor should have both of them available to rent as well.

Been a Beretta 92 fan since before Glocks were around. I own 3 92fs pistols and 2 96's.
But I also own a Glock 22. The Glock is my beater truck gun. Both are dependable. The Berettas cost about $100 more, but mags are cheaper and easier to find. I find the Betetta to be more refined, less clunky and overall a better shooter. Trigger is nice but that double action first shot takes like 50 pounds of pull I think, lol. Growing up I learned to shoot with 1911's P-38, P-08, Ruger standard and a couple wheel guns when it came to pistols, so I guess I felt more accustomed to the Beretta from the get go, but not so with the Glock.
All that being said, I don't shoot the Glock for much in the way of pleasure and my groups aren't as tight as with the Berettas, but they're tough as nails.
The weight factor is negligible in my experience. The Beretta frame is pretty light and the Glock slide is a little heavy. I might be wrong, but with a full load, I'd say the Glock 17 and Beretta 92 are probably too close in weight to tell any difference.

I too am leaning toward a 92fs as a truck/range gun. Although Glock makes a fantastic weapon, I don't like their triggers. I keep my Sig P220 by my bedside and CC a P938, but I want a decent 9mm I can cycle a few thousand rounds thru that won't break the bank.

Three quality polymer pistols at a reasonable price with good triggers for range work.
    1. HK VP9.
    2. Walther PPQ.
    3. Sig P320.

like i said i deciding between the 2 and im buying this week.

Shoot both, pick the one that you are most comfortable and you can hit with.

Personally, I like the Beretta 92 and have an M9A1 in the safe. No Glock's in the house, I don't like them for several reasons. I normally carry a Sig 938 in the pants pocket or Kimber Tactical Ultra II 45 if wearing a jacket (not this time of year!). If I go open carry then it's the HK USP 45.

I've either owned or fired almost every gun listed to this point, and I have a high preference to the glock and the walther. Still own both, still carry both.

That's not to say anything bad about the beretta, it just wasn't for me.

Per what I just said above - go get both and shoot both at the range if you can. Don't let us pick, YOU pick. Whatever you decide will now require mandatory pics in the bayoushooter gun porn forum.
