    The government took his guns after he was arrested for selling 966(MJ in this case.) The guns were lawfully owned since he had no prior record. The guns were not involved in the crime. This court decision means that he can lawfully consign his guns for sale by another party or give them to family or friends. It does not mean that he can sell them himself as he is no longer allowed to posses firearms.
    If you were convicted of a felony, I am sure you would want to be able to lawfully dispose of your firearms since you would need the money. Otherwise, you would have the government steal your property. This is nothing more than a property rights ruling.

    Boom. That sounds about right. If it was any other type of property it would be a different story.
