I need some input from a LEO standpoint about a threat I just got.

    Heres a little background info.

My cousin is a middleperson for a bookie. He ended up winning alot of money and the bookie ran on my cousin.

So now my cousin is in hiding because they don't have the money. So the guy just called me threatening me to come after me if I can't find my cousin.

This guy has been in jail before, and he owns a restaurant here in town, so I know he won't be a dumbass and come after me himself. He'll probably send some lowlife crackhead that he paid some money to.

What can I do in a legal standpoint? I can't carry a gun EVERYWHERE and refuse to look over my shoulder all the time.

Well, you could file a restraining order against him, but if he is too chickensh*t to do it himself, that wouldn't do any good. Without proof of the threat, there isn't too much you can do besides alert the popo to "keep an eye on him."

stop being a poosie and tell him its between him and your cousin and if he has a problem with that he can go #### himself. if he wanted to be sure he got paid for winning a bet he should have went to the casino.

*i am not a lawyer but mcinfantry would say you should go talk to one.

I would not suggest burn down his house while he's away and his wife is home, tying her up after she runs out of the house, putting a nugget of **** in her mouth and taping it closed, then stapling a message to her **** before putting her by the back door of one of his restaurants.

"Quit talking ****, you'll get burned."

I'm just gonna wait for him to make a move. I carry my sidearm everywhere I go now and am on extra alert for anything out of the ordinary.

delete this thread, for your own sake, if you arent going to go to the police or take legal action.

The reason I say so is because the red portion, if used in court, would be an argument for premeditation rather than simple defense because you're citing a specific person(not by name but by location and identified owner of a business) and that you are waiting for them to make a move, rather than seeking help.

    I'm not a lawyer though...cover your ass.
