For those primitive or tent campers, that fan is a godsend if you're into summer camping... It is a bit bulky, but I attach it to the outside of my pack via carabiner. It runs on D cells so it's not terribly lightweight, but it's not a killer. If I'm hiking a long way, I just stuff it under the pack lid so it's not bouncing around annoying the **** out of me.

I just clip it to the 'attic shelf' inside my tent, and use some cord to tie it to an nylon loop inside my tent somewhere, to direct it at my face. I find that even a little air moving past my face makes it very easy to sleep in the heat without sweating my nuts off. I'm sure there is better out there for this, but that's just something I bought on a whim at Academy one day and it's served me well. It's still running on the same batteries after probably 20-25 nights of use.

We still have that fan for our tent that we retired 2 years ago, they are a life saver especially at night. I have a feeling that for solo trips with the boy I will probably tent camp but my wife loves the a/c and so do I in the middle of summer it is lovely.

Spent the Wednesday through Sunday before Christmas at Lake Lincoln in Wesson,Ms. 4 of the 5 days, we were the only souls there other than 2 rangers, a bobcat that scared the crap out of me at the dumpsters, and a bear. It was kind of cool being alone.

We just got back from a city camping trip. Stayed a couple days at the casino in marksville and went to see rodney carrington. It was our adult weekend! Left jr with grandma.

I try to go with travel trailer, I do still sometimes camping and a several periods I use my glide in camper. Mostly condition the parks though with having chilly air to rest in when it is above 100 degree is nice.

Considering selling our home and begin RV living full-time. We are part-time campers and really enjoy it. Any full-timers on the camping forum?

Have considered this ourselves ! They don't manufacture a travel trailer with the right comforts for us though !

Exactly what comforts are you wanting? I fyou have a big enough wallet, the sky is the limit on trailers nowdays.
I have a basic 28' bunkhouse that has plenty of comforts for the short term. Also have a 14' slide in mounted on a gooseneck trailer that has all the same comforts but is smaller.
For full timing and not moving it constantly, there are some 40'+ park models and 5th wheels that have more features than most houses or if you have big money you can have a bus custom built.
