Hate to say it guys, but the kid did the right thing. His rights were trampled and did nothing wrong. Had he been arrested, he only needed to keep his mouth closed and let his attorney deal with it.

Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, I have a high respect for those in blue who are here to protect and to serve. It takes a special individual to put their life on the line on a daily basis.

That being said, laws (Constitutional rights) are put in place to protect EVERYONE! Could he fight this in court? Sure, but at what finacial cost to this young 21 yr old. Sad thing is, for things to be changed, instances such as these must be challenged in a court. You must ask yourself, are you the one willing to take the financial hit?

The laptop is where they write reports and stuff. Just saying. If you don't want them providing free deterrence to crime in your parking lot then please ask them to leave.

Not Vanilla Gorilla, he watches porn. He says it because trampling rights makes him horny, but personally I think he just has an addiction.

So instead he chooses to fight it out in public where he knows the other has a gun.
    That's brilliant.

Pick and choose your battles. Arguing over a 10 second stop on the side of the road at 2AM is not worth my time or resources.

All they way in the back of the parking lot (100-125 ft. off the road), and parked in the back of the last building? This is where they deter crime for free? Ohhhhh. Ok got it

It's copy/pasted from an old Glenn Beck parody. TheBlaze, being his "news" outlet, made me think Glenn Beck and his style of "journalism" where you just provide a little selective clip and then start asking "hypotheticals" and narrations to turn the story into what /you/ want to further your own tin-foil goals.

A few years ago, some people started a 'viral parody' / meme that went so far as to even create a lawsuit from Beck, bringing down the domain someone registered to anchor the joke.

I find that SVT's has gone from being a full confrontational cop basher to just putting hollow little pieces out there for others to bite on, providing less commentary than before, but having "been around" long enough, we know his intent. He's just trying to plant seeds or troll, basically.

Some info on the old hoax/parody/meme/troll:

If you see them then so do criminals I would assume. I'm assuming you are an employee and not the owner. I bet the owner has no problem with it. I'm sure you know that is private property and they can be asked to leave. It's your tax dollars, tell em to get their asses to work lol

    Trolls on the internet?? :eek3:

Doesn't matter to me. What bothers me are all the people think they will win a confrontation with a LEO. It is not the place for it. Or any confrontation with someone I KNOW has a gun strapped on. In court, dirt poor is better than being dead, no matter who is right or wrong.
    Everyone has a bad day.

Truthfully, the only reason I even see them is I walk out the back door after work, and you have to pass my building to get back there so I see them going back there. Maybe I'll tell em next time Motor lol

I don't agree with starting **** for no reason especially with someone that has a hard job to begin with however, this just seems like more of blame the victim. No one taught this guy how to talk to officers or maybe he just wanted to show how far some will go just to prove a point not all cops are good and they can be bullies too.

I myself have never met a bad cop since I'm usually as friendly as possible. I don't like being pulled over and try to avoid it. I've met one rude cop so far but I don't treat other cops differently because of one a-hole they are just doing a job for little pay and little respect which I know how that feels...

    This^ is the point!

An argument could be made that these video ambushes (whether preplanned or not), are reminders that there is a right way to handle these interactions. If you believe that you should submit to the whim of anyone just because they are police, fine. Submit. No harm done. The police officer's job is much easier. You want to call it mutual respect? Fine be respectful! No harm done. Everyone is happy.

But, because you don't have an issue with any of that doesn't mean you haven't relented your Rights. You most assuredly did! That was YOUR choice. These can sometimes illustrate that the officer took them (or expected you to relent them voluntarily), just because he was representing law enforcement.

When Veedup says it was a pissing contest, he's right. But why? What if the officer relented? And said; "You know what Sir, you are right. I don't see any sign or reason to suspect you are intoxicated. You may continue on."

Bottom line is, if you make the choice to relent your Rights, that should be your right to do so; not the other way around. Everyone (a lot of folks, anyway), seems to forget that in the name of being respectful.

I would not consider this "fighting it out in public", but sharing this may be his way of dispersing knowledge of what does occur out there to others. "Knowledge is power!"

Why don't you just talk with them like normal adults and ask them how their night is going too? They don't want to be on a DUI checkpoint as much as you do either? Just have a normal conversation, everything is AOK on your end and you appreciate what they do for the community? In sure that Deputy ha had to clean the brain off the highway on more than one occasion due to a drunk driver, and you're just spitting in his face. A simple good evening and courtesy can go a long way.

    Works for me.
