I really like my EMP 9MM. Just a 'baby' 1911. It's been very accurate, reliable, easy to carry and fun to shoot.

Uh, anyways, what I'm getting at is 1911s make excellent hobby guns. Fun for the range and look good to boot...

Yup. One of the many reasons why I love 1911's

Haha you are already getting to shoot my Wilson. Let's not get greedy. j/k!

I really may go the STI route.

I really want one as well so I can have the same platform as my 1911 only in a smaller caliber for training. I cant justify spending 2 grand plus on a 9mm 1911 so it wont be a NHC or an EB.

Although.......... it could be used for competition??????? HHHHHMMMMM

Yeah not looking to spend the money on a top tier again right now. I think something in the STI range is more doable right now.

I love my EAA (Tangfolio) Match 9mm. It's an awesome shooter, and you cant beat the $550 price
This, my local shop had one, but it was a .40, or else it woulda been mine.

Also, a kahr t9 would be an excellent gun, i had a k9 with the long and strong nypd trigger, but was able to hit targets at 25 yards easily enough when i started getting used to it, i think the t9 has a lighter trigger.

Why not go with a G34? Sure, they're not super sweet right from the factory, but toss in a Vanek trigger, quality sights, maybe a ported barrel and you'd have a really great range toy. Or even a 35 with conversion barrel etc.

I have had Glocks before and they just do nothing for me. Not knocking them or saying I would never buy one again. They are good guns and do what they do well, but looking for something different.

I've owned a Beretta 92 for 20+ years, picked up a Sig p226 about 4 years ago. Also own a couple of 1911's. My favorite shooter is the Sig, just seems to fit my hand better, more comfortable to shoot and thus more rounds put downrange. .

I was going to stick to the options you listed, but since someone else mentioned it.... 1911 is the way to go and STI is a really great way of going there.

La. Gun Reloading in Baton Rouge and they are a Sponsor on BS.

Don't think they had any yesterday, but they did have them at one time.

I would buy another one of whatever you carry, but I'm boring and think "range toys" are silly.

I think people that think range toys are silly are silly. ;)

I have a few toys I wouldn't carry. Just pistols I break out once in a great moon and have fun with. A CZ 75B would fit your bill.
