    Wow !

    A "Pershing Rifles" hard-core ROTC'er.

I'm impressed, Tom. When I lived in the Stadium, they would form-up just below my window. It was great to watch them from up-close.

I attended Centenary, tho, Company O-6. My friend Frank Kean was a big shot in PR at LSU.

I spent a couple of miserable nights in the Stadium on a PR trip. The only time I have been in the dorm part.

You were on the south part overlooking the P-80?

I like Mardi Gras, I dont go out of my to do anything for it though. I dont think Ive been to a parade in 2 years. It just hasnt worked out with work and Im not using my vacation days for it.

I never cared for the crowds of people that lose respect for themselves for a few days.

I do wish I could bring some 30 cent beads to work and have the women go crazy everyday though. That would be cool.

Just wondering. I know I can't be the only one.

Given the times we live in, I tend to avoid it, myself.

Of course there are still some truly family-oriented events out there- but they seem to be getting fewer all the time....Nowdays, even the small-town parades are infected by ferals who bring bull$hit and mayhem along for the ride- Plaquemine yesterday is a good example. I personally don't care to get caught up in that kind of zoo-like atmosphere.:dunno:

I know some people can't imagine life without it- and that's ok. Me- I was born and raised here, but I just don't give a rats ass about it.

Or am I just a defective Louisianian?

Well, my wife and I and two children moved here in August of last year. It was our very first Mardi Gras and a great chance to experience the native culture.... So we went to Mississippi and camped all weekend instead.

I am glad I'm not the only one who doesn't care for Mardi Gras. I don't go to parades or most other places where crowds gather. I perfer to get off work, go home and spend my time with family and friends.
