Maybe we can get a group purchase discount on this mask? :D
Seems this is a URME mask and seems they're no longer in business, but that's without digging deeper on that specific one.

My face and fingerprints are in federal databases due to my line of work. I was photographed and fingerprinted again about 3 weeks ago. They know who I am and where to find me, but I'm definitely going to buck the facial recognition system for my own protection and entertainment.

As an introvert I dig hiding my face anyway.

I think if you should have one of those mask but of very average or slightly ugly face Nobody will look closely at an ugly or dumb looking person. And if its someone that nobody listens to, even better.

Good morning tickle, If you would read the law it has exemptions. Concealing your identity under a rubber mask is not one of those exemptions. I have never arrested nor personally witnessed anyone arrested for not wearing a mask for medical reasons. I have arrested someone for wearing a mask to conceal their identity.

What else did they do besides try to wear a mask to conceal their identity?

Good Morning, Boss, and Happy Lunchtime.

So I get a pass if I claim my bandana over my face is due to covid?

Curious if this as well ^. We’re they just arrested for eating a mask to conceal identity or were they committing a crime in the process?

I see an awful lot of people wearing non medical mask these days such as bandanas or ski mask using them as medical mask.

I started wearing my bandana over my face to get a pass into stores (mask mandate) so I could live as usual, groceries, supplies, etc.

I said from the beginning of the pLandemic that I would continue wearing it once they (inevitably) lifted the mandate.
I found I LOVED covering my face. I'm an introvert. I'm not the only one, either. Ask some introverts!
The other facet of my desire/intention to continue wearing a face-covering is the mass surveillance BS.

Many people are still wearing masks in public.
I still wear a mask (bandana) in public, UNARMED, going about standard life that everyone lives, making groceries, gathering common supplies, hitting the laundromat to wash my mattress pad I use here at work...you know, life stuff.

    I'm breaking the law???

My original comment was directed at the rubber full face mask that is obviously being worn to conceal your identity. That will def get me to talk to you in an official capacity. Wearing your bandanna for covid reasons is common and will not do anything to hinder facial recognition cameras which was your original concern.

    Why are you unarmed?

Wearing the mask probably doesn't really conceal your identity as well as you think it does.

That was def an added charge because they committed more serious crimes.

    Sounds about right.

I get the feeling that a lot of DAs wouldn't hold up a charge that is solely due to someone wearing a mask to conceal their identity.

My DA is too busy trying to keep out of the poky to bother with crimes.

I wonder if one of those face shields, with an ir film on it would defeat these cameras ?

Wearing a mask does essentially nothing for the facial recognition camera. The vast majority are designed to identify starting with the eyes. Chances are if your eyes are visible they know it’s you. I’m not sure if everyone one is designed the same but the ones that are in wal marts, casinos, and already in some cities across America are designed this way.

If you truly want to avoid detection a full mask with sunglasses might be an option but I’m not even sure if that would work. This is a pretty high tech software that’s used.

I don’t really like the idea of it but at the same time it doesn’t really bother me. I rarely go out in public if it’s not work related or occasionally enjoying time out with my family. Other than that the only places I stop are the gas station, gun range, academy, and my local gun shop when I have the money lol.
Gun ranges and LGS are the targeted places, as gun shows.

Walking around in public in todays day and age unarmed seems crazy to me but hey if you’re comfortable with it go for it I suppose.

I know a young man arrested at a Mardi Gras parade for wearing a mask. Not charged with anything else. The exemption is for Mardi Gras day only. I spoke to another gent that claimed a bank teller wouldn't serve him until he took off his cap so the camera could get a good look at him. She said nothing about the .45 on his hip. A former colleague of mine was arrested for assaulting a police officer. Mounted officer rode into his bead throwing trajectory in the French Quarter. That charge was dropped.

Moral to all of that……… if you see a policeman on a huge horse, wait to throw your beads or quit drinking. I believe there are other exemptions in the law for Halloween etc

Considering the charges were dropped seems like the officer was just taking out his anger on the guy because he happened to hit him with some beads. The officer was probably in the wrong for arresting the guy. Now if the guy was taunting the officer or threw the beads at him and busted out laughing or started high fiving his buddies than I’m sure things would have been different and the charges would have been justified. Moral of the story to me seems to be keep your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Especially if you’re an on duty police officer.
