Ha Ha oh hell I read into that wrong, my in-laws are from Abbieville and Erath which were the first places I’ve seen it. Seems it’s more prevalent south of I 10.

We had a good chicken pot pie that my daughter made tonight.

Cooked a pot of chicken & sausage yesterday. Served it with rice and whiskey on the rocks!

I make my own broth as well by throwing the carcass of a chicken, bunch of scraps, and some seasoning in the InstaPot for 3 hours on high heat at pressure.

I’ve had it with potato salad in the same bowl and it’s actually pretty good, just don’t like the tangy (lot of mustard) kind… but this is just old fashion, with rice and file’… as you can tell this is seconds lol

Much to my in-laws chagrin I can’t get down with putting potato salad in my bowl of gumbo. On the side, we are good. In the bowl, hard pass.

No potato salad in the bowl for me. I like my potato salad cold, and made a day or two before we eat it. And no mustard or celery in my potato salad.

It was delicious! We've got another day or two of leftovers!

Leftover is better than "day of" gumbo. We like to let it sit in the fridge a day or two after we make it. It seems to pick up much more flavor.

Well damn it looks like we get another cold front this weekend, we are expecting 2 mornings right around 20° here. Lowest I saw earlier this week was 15°.
