    True point penguin. However, never before in history has man had the ability to bring it about. With the recent technology explosion, gravitation toward a cashless system, and weaponry advances we can now do it. :D Not to mention biological weapons. We now can screw up the world in short order.

    Back then it was 'but now man has become so advanced...' and in 100 years it will be 'man's technology has never been so advanced...' and on and on. I don't doubt man will eventually destroy themselves; but not right now and not because of the 'signs' that are always there.
