I can see a Cat 5 hurricane and a terrorist have altered your delicate sensibilities enough to distrust LE.
So, are you justifying what happened here? What an odd statement.

Yes, it prevents people from pursuing justice in civil court without a criminal court conviction or an admission of guilt. You do realize qualified immunity isn’t a blanket of protection absolving LE of all wrong doing. Plenty of those “bad cops” do get in trouble.
That's why i won't own an AR.. Not worth the trouble. I'm just as good with non ar rifles and I don't need a military grade weapon to protect myself and my family.
Tactitools and blanket statements... Welcome to Bayoushooter.
Winchester Model 70FYI, here some other "military grade weapons". Except the last two. They are just for fun. Would you knock them off your list for protection as well?
Remington 870 = M870 shotgun
Mossberg 500/590 = M500/M590 shotgun
Benelli M4 = M1014 shotgun
Barretta 92FS = M9
Sig Sauer P320 = M17/M18
Barrett 82A1 = M82A1/M107A1
Remington 700 = M24 sniper weapon system
The irony is that most outspoken internet cops claim that everyone else is responsible for what happens to them, but they'd never voluntarily give up qualified immunity so that bad cops can be properly punished for the harm they do. They would likely vote as a single issue voter to prevent it, even though making officers personally accountable is the only real way to improve the moral character of police officers and to improve their function and service to society.
While many would deny that police have been impacted, and say that the general moral character is as virtuous as ever but regular people are worse, they'll likely readily admit that the Military leadership is garbage, that recruiting is down for valid reasons, and that it could use improvement.
We all want to get home at the end of the day, and would do anything we have to do to get there. It's just that at the end of the day, if I violate someone's rights I have to pay for it all by myself, if cops do the same every other tax payer pays for it and maybe the cop gets a "vacation" (and they may be able to draw unemployment or work Extra Duty ).
Double Standards are almost always OK to the people they benefit. Yes, comply or you too are a scumbag!
(I do not know all of the legal protections that government officials get, but some exist official and unofficial and including professional courtesy)
The well intended deniers often lean on "That person is anti-Cop!", no matter how valid the argument it, or corrupt ones might try to ruin you/your name when they get really mad.

I'll take "things that didn't happen" for $200, please.Ha! I enjoyed that man's statement: something about 'don't be stupid and break the law.......' my question is: who decides that that something is suddenly a law.....and therefore you are now breaking it??
I had similar recent incident......(well maybe recent isn't the word......a year or so..)........but one afternoon......(while I was field stripping one of my weapons no less......).....I hear an excited knocking on my front door. (My son is at school and my wife is upstairs.....I was off work for a few days). I go to front foyer and look out big picture window to the tune of 5 law enforcement looking people......all wired for sound and fingering their sidearms. Not knowing why they could possibly be there.....or whether these people were actual LEO's and not some home invasion posse........I wrote my cell number on a legal pad and stuck in on the window.....and waited. After a few bellows from the head guy...and my continued refusal to open the door....( I never left their sight).....told my wife to wait in the upstairs bathroom with her cell....should we need to call 911. They eventually called me.....gave me all this hub-bub about someone calling in about 'shots fired'.....(....and I thought....'shots fired???? did the caller have an exact address?????....most shots are kinda random as far as their origin!)..... so I asked to see their warrant........no warrant.......I asked who they might be looking for? man....woman, black, white, short.....etc. not a shred of specific info. finally.....after 15 mins of tense negotiations......someone gets a call and says they are at the wrong location.....blah blah blah. They never even apologized or acknowledged me as they egressed off my property. THAT could have turned out alot differently! Like the man said: you are not obligated to answer/open your door. There are plenty of ways to legally and safely communicate to whomever is on your property.
I’m in 100% agreement there are crap cops and policies, crap nurses, crap teachers, crap people in general. He probably knows a lot more about it than me, just through the job and training. You're both probably decent people and cops, just out of odds, but we don't know one another. Saying that there are problems with some cops and policies is not an attack on all cops or law enforcement. Are you a Union member by chance?

SMH, just as there are better ways to handle someone at your door, there are better ways to approach someone’s door. You better believe if I see 5 pumped up dudes with hands on weapons outside my door I’m going to be cautious. I know I’m not the bad guy, but I don’t know what they’re thinking and I’m just not taking a chance that I don’t need to take, come Hurricane, terrorist or girl scouts selling cookies. How about because they just look menacing all standing outside my door? You definitely saw that scenario from a single minded point of view didn’t you, “showing the odd behavior”. A man inside his own home apparently intimidated to the point of not moving and asking them to call him and talk. That’s odd behavior? Or is it just someone failing to do what you want them to do? Whassamatta? You ain’t got time for that?I can see a Cat 5 hurricane and a terrorist have altered your delicate sensibilities enough to distrust LE.
It would be better to not answer the door than display the odd behavior the other fella did. What factors screamed “bad idea” in answering the door?
You are certainly a simple one. If you can’t recognize that behavior as odd and the Girl Scouts frighten you.....a grown man. Sorry, I did not mean to assume your gender.SMH, just as there are better ways to handle someone at your door, there are better ways to approach someone’s door.
