And to think of the people that hold the US to moral equivalence with these sadistic monsters.

My goodness, this is a f**cked up world! :(

It's pretty much a world wide agreement amongst archeologist.

The greatest threat to ALL other Religions Monuments and Artifacts
are Islamic Groups who get control of where-ever those pieces are.
    They immediately destroy them.

This is the greatest fear for Historians and Archeologist
if Islamic Groups ever get full control over Jerusalem.
    All would be lost.

France calls for emergency UN meeting over Iraq crisis
Iraqi forces say they have repelled Islamic State militants from a district 90 kilometres north of Baghdad.
But the apparent victory in Diyala province has done little to quell the Sunni-led offensive.

Insurgents are boasting of more gains in the north of the country.
They say they are now in control of 15 towns, Iraq’s biggest dam and a military base.

Thousands of people have also fled the country’s largest Christian town – Qaraqosh – after it was seized.
In the strategic oil area of Kirkuk, at least 11 people are reported dead after two car bombs exploded near a mosque.
The building was being used to shelter Shiite refugees who had fled violence in their hometown of Tal Afar.

Meanwhile, in Baghdad, another car bomb has killed more than a dozen people.

France is now calling on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting over the crisis,
which poses the biggest threat to Iraq since the fall of Saddam Hussein.

You guys think anyone is going to react to this in a real way, or will it be like the Sudan?

    More than Air Strikes? Doubtful.
We got boots on the ground there now in key locations.

I'm assuming as long as the fighting stays within those borders
it seems as if the International Community isn't bothered much
by letting them thin the herd some.

    ...and they are doing that.

Some estimates of the Iraqi Death toll(Since the US Invasion) are over the 500,000 range
and that was BEFORE the ISIL started their party.

500,000 people gone from your Country. That's a lot of folks.
How many more can they stand to lose?

    The world is always changing
as is the ways in which the world's powers deal with each-other.

I'm not sure how ANYONE could predict what 'The International Community' will do. :dunno:

All anyone EVER has to do to see how much the International Community of Cowards and Big Talkers will do about any genocide or mass killings is research the Sudan. It was the single most important realization for me that people who have it good are all full of ****! What a bunch of phony outrage that one was! Hell, even black people didn't give a **** about that when it was all said and done!

And, it was a seminal moment for me to NEVER, EVER want to hear ANYONE EVER crying for the world community to help downtrodden people again.

    To the world's phony outrages, I say.......:madfawk:

President Obama said Thursday he has authorized "targeted" air strikes
if necessary to protect American interests in Iraq
from insurgent forces that are taking over the country's northern cities.

If the terrorist group ISIS reaches Erbil, the president said he will call in U.S. air strikes.
The U.S. has an embassy and other staffers in the city.
Air strikes have also been authorized to protect families fleeing ISIS in the Sinjar Mountains.

"These innocent families are faced with a choice:
descend and be slaughtered or stay and slowly die of hunger," he said.

Obama said U.S. combat troops will not return.

"As commander in chief, I will not allow the United States to be drawn into fighting another war in Iraq," Obama said.

The announcements marked the deepest American engagement in Iraq
since U.S. troops withdrew in late 2011 after nearly a decade of war.

"Today, America is coming to help," Obama said. "The U.S. cannot turn a blind eye."

An air drop of food, water and medicine made at the request of the Iraqi government
has been completed, the president said in the statement from the White House.

The United States carried out an airstrike against ISIS militants in Iraq today,
targeting artillery, the Pentagon's press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said.

Kirby said two F/A 18 fighter jets dropped 500 pound laser guided bombs on a mobile artillery piece near Erbil,
the capital of the Kurdish province. He said the artillery was being "used against Kurdish forces defending Erbil, near US personnel."

The strike comes one day after President Obama authorized airstrikes in Iraq if necessary.

They aren't too keen on the drone strikes eh?

lol I guess not. They also don't enjoy counter-battery type strikes that use geophysical MASINT.

Smashing gophers was a common practice in early to mid 05' in Fallujah.
You'd hear/see random mortar rounds landing around Baharia,
then you'd hear a very deep but far away, boom...boom...boom..boom...boom (The sound of 155mm Artillery being fired from Camp Fallujah)
towards wherever they recorded the seismic reading for where the mortars came from.
You could hear the 155's passing over head sometimes depending on the altitude and distance they were firing.

They(Insurgents) eventually learned that they couldn't stand around for long
after firing mortars b/c the Steel Rain counter was coming.

-Side Note- I think this is somewhat or was somewhat the issue in Gaza.
Their counter battery fired from geophysical MASINT alone.
Therefore hitting buildings of wherever the fire was coming from.

This is a risky war tactic.

During Fallujah this was a huge no-no.
No fire mission could be called in, without an FO. Period.
Thus ensuring there were eyes on target.

A perfect illustration of the difference in the faithful and the infidels.

Infidels = minimize or even eliminate collateral damage.

Faithful = the more dead the better. Irrelevant who or what they were.

Monday night's episode of Apocalypse - WWI told of one battle in a few days stretch where 200,000 people were killed. Now, the world gets all pissy if a camel gets killed by a stray bullet.

Does anyone else find trying to prosecute these wars without casualties pretty f**king stupid?

As i sat back these past few weeks watching Israel in Gaza
I couldn't help but feel as connected as ever to IDF Troops on the ground.

    They faced very similar issues.

How to eradicate a city of vermin, without leveling the whole place.
Now we didn't leave much standing in Fallujah, but the EFFORT to avoid
innocent casualties was always at the fore-front of missions.

Know what we found? Dead Iraqi Civilians not killed by US Forces
but by their own blood. Insurgents rarely aim, they just fire and consider
ANY person that dies as just a mere sacrifice to the cause  ...but I digress.

Yet, even still afterwards, a bank was set up in Jolan Park
where we fulfilled our promise to cash checks for their claims
and help rebuild the city. Schools, Water Towers, Businesses.

Israel has, is now and will continue to do that very thing for Gaza.

Yet if you looked on the news in 04'/05' and now even still today read the Wiki article
about the 2nd Invasion of Fallujah. The claim is that 6,000 Civilians died.
Hell I bet I didn't see several hundred civilians much less 6,000 and dead?!?

    Anyway, you get the point.

Oh yea and Emperor....a ton of photo's and new video has been released
of more Genocide from the ISIL cutting the throats several dozen people.

I actually couldn't watch it or view the pics.

The sound and sight of someones throat being cut and sawed to the bone and then off
is not something you can easily forget. I'm working on not scaring my soul anymore. ;)

I made myself watch the Nick Berg video and it still haunts me. I never wanted to mistake or forget the true nature of the demon controlled forces at war with civilization.
