These sheriffs then need to get some of their own Medicine.

All law abiding should come out and start carrying on a daily basis, OPEN CARRY!! And encourage all citizens with newly acquired handguns.

Let them start screaming that the public is doing exactly what is lawful because the sheriffs wish this to be so by their actions against a Right all should have to carry concealed.

    I totally agree!

Not all cops but SOME cops are anti second amendment . Where have we heard that before? It's hard to trust the Sheriff's when they so blatantly lie about what effects permitless carry will have on officers and the public . They know other states have gone permitless with no spike in crimes . This is the same bunch that screamed NO to concealed carry permits because it would "endanger officers . " Those cops could not care less about your safety or rights all they care about is keeping power over the citizens . There are cops who are very pro second amendment but most are reluctant to let it be known because it could damage their careers . I would like to see a blind survey and see what percentage of cops say ya or nay on all gun laws and where they would stand if certain guns were outlawed .

So, the question that I have been asking is why do they support a political party that wants to “re-think” or completely end them. Wouldn’t they back up the only people that currently support them? Thinking about it makes me start to ask questions that I am not I want answered.

For the same reason SOME black people still support the party that keeps them enslaved to welfare and tells them they are different and not smart enough to compete or even obtain an I d to vote . They are temperarily empowered by them . I wish people would get more involved with the Sheriff's elections . People should demand the candidates reveal exactly how they stand on issues not " I stand for 2 ond amendment rights " b. S . All this thin blue line / all cops are heroes stuff makes people think cops are a group of saviours out there protecting us but the truth is ,while a lot of them are, SOME are arrogant bullies that are on ego trips and are offended by the thought of people taking up arms against "Authority " . Those are the ones who make good cops look bad and sadly they are the ones who often move up the ladder . It's easy to spot the "I'm the law , you must obey the law " type . They are the ones that are offended and take it personal when you criticize bad cops or say "SOME cops are bad apples .

They are basically arguing that everyone is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Isn't....that a little backwards?

Not backwards at all , that is the way the system works . If you are accused you pay to get out of jail , pay to defend yourself , depending on the charge loose all gun rights until after the trial and possibly loose your job ,house , and life savings . You are not even allowed to sue the public official who's actions cost you everything because they have ammunity .

    Veto Override Session is Happening!

The Louisiana Constitution requires that a Veto Legislation Session occur following the Regular Legislative Session unless the Legislators agree that the session is not needed.

For the first time in the history of our Great State, the Legislators have agreed to hold a Legislative Override Session.

The session will be held at noon on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Of note, there is no provision in the Constitution that mandates that all vetoed bills must be considered. We will need to work to ensure that SB118 is considered during the Veto Override Session.

This is it. This is the moment that you have been waiting for. It is time for you to send emails to legislators. Do it today! The Session is this Tuesday, July 20.

Here is a list of all the legislators that voted for SB118 when it was considered in the House or the Senate. There are a few legislators who missed the vote, so they are included too.

Please send a POLITE note to these legislators:

    1. Thanking them for their support for SB118.
    2. Asking them to vote to Override the Governor's veto of SB118.

If you are not polite, they have an excuse to ignore you.

Those highlighted in yellow need particular attention. If you have time, send them a thank you note and ask them for their override vote.

Finally, Rep. Joseph Stagni is the only Republican not supporting SB118. Please send him an email asking for him to reverse his position and override the veto on SB118.

SB118 will be brought up in the Senate first. It is the 3rd Bill on the agenda. However, the Senate is NOT where we are going to need help!

I believe it will be televised on the Legislative website?!?

Hopefully, no one jumps ship in the Senate (it would even be more nice if we picked up another vote or 2), and the momentum of that vote carries over to the potential wafflers in the House.

I think Clay Shexnayder's answer to whether he would vote for SB 118 was a good start. He basically said, "I voted for it in the regular session, and I will vote for it now. I have been sent here to represent my district, and my district wants this!"

    We'll see.

It failed in the Senate! :eek3:

    It's over!

That's what you get with a democrat as your governor in a solid Red state.

Thanks a lot David Vitter! You DOUCHEBAG!
